Oblelix, I'm wondering about the last screenie you posted, I thought that the russians forbid having any kind of german markings being used as kill markings (granted that these are french pilots not russian)? Or is this one of those cases were they just sliped by, lol

Russion pilots did, but not french ones! As the "Normandie" (later Normandie Niemen) squadron was crewed only with french pilots, black crosses and sometimes swastikas crosses were used. Littolff was already an ace (during Batlle of France, he had got 12 victories) when he joined Normandie Squadron, in november 1942, he had got his first victory (on easter front) on june 15th, 1943...

Yes, I see what you mean WarWolf, but this squadron was a french squadron before all, under french command, "working" with russian VVS, I guess that the soviet command was at that time much "cool" with them than with its own personnal!! May be, the fact that the french had choosen a russian plane instead of an anglo-saxon ones (The british authorities didn't agree this, as they didn't appreciate that some french pilots, training with the RAF, went on the eastern front!) But, as frenchie, I guess that the pilots, at that time as today, had decided to painted Crosses instead of red stars without any permission!!! As two of them, would painted a shark mouth on their airplanes!!

Please forgive my poor english, it's a shame, really!
