I blame call of duty for the whole WW2 -> Modern Warfare bit
Honestly, i think we should get the first game out before going on with a sequel, and frankly, if a sequel comes, i think they should stick with World War 2. And instead of going for a new period, actually expand on the game, improve it. Give more features, capabilities, depth, yet retain simplicity.

theres only so much you can do with ww2 before it gets boring, and fighting the same battles with new features isnt what i call fun, one or two more expantions on ww2 would be ok but a game in vietnam or korea would be cool, even a WIC type sanario would work. But I must admit a game to far into the future with to advance tech might be difficult to stay within the ruse game concept.
I just want you to know how much of an *** you are, for disgracing the services of so many Marines and Sailors by saying that someone is doing a discredit to their sacrifice of their life, because your obese and self centered self can't play as Japan.Originally posted by k20a2_power:
I've already played ruse and can already tell it's one of my favorite games to date. But before ruse 2 is released I'd like to see a real good expansion pack for ruse 1 with:
-JAPAN
-more maps
-JAPAN
-addition of naval maps
-JAPAN
-more units (land and naval)
-oh and I almost forgot...JAPAN!!!
Adding japan will give the game the true feel of an actual world war. But adding japan would mean adding a variety of different naval units as it would add and interesting twist to the game. Just because you have good tactics for land battle doesn't mean you will do well at sea because the units and ruses will be vastly different.
I almost feel leaving japan out of a WW2 game is a dishonor to those who died to defeat it.
Isn't this over stating it just a bit?Originally posted by k20a2_power:

I don't quite get why you feel Japan MUST be in a WW2 game set in Europe, do you always demand Japan appears in any setting? Rome:Total War "ADD JAPAN!", Sins of a Solar Empire: "ADD JAPAN!"...of course it would be insulting not to have them in those games too, right?
Japan was a part of WW2 just like germany and and russia and in my eyes japan did more in the WW2 than the french (except the resistance).
And the comment that the japanese had no tanks or other good units is nonesense.
The only problem I see is that the devs need to aplly naval warfare, but thats it.
So, you don't see the fact Japan isn't in Europe, dispite the game being set in Europe, as a problem?Originally posted by QShadow_G28:

"and all the countries in the european union. "
Are you kidding? Or you just dont even know anything abour the EU... it has 27 member states.. including cypress, slovenia or for example Malta.. Malta's population is 400.000 ppl.. Guess what strong army malta has... A solid army of the EU wouldnt be realistic, becaue all of the countries in the EU have its own military policy, we dont have a solid army at all. Better if you point on the map and choose 6 different kind of random nations... jeez
That may be, but who do you think made it really popular ? Call of duty
DICE's battlefield series did it first.
@The Voice: I think that is a matter of taste, and a question of whether or not the devs can do a good enough job of advancing the game.
Otherwise, this thread seems to be ever so slowly going off-topic and turning into a flamewar.
