I think it should be like modern with like russia, china, america, n.korea, s.korea, and all the countries in the european union. The name should be R.U.S.E modern warfare.

But other than that I doubt they would shift that much, maybe an expansion pack with Japan?, certianly I would think more on building on the content rather than starting anew, hopefully R.u.s.e will be that sucsessful enough to warrant one.

Personally, a Vietnam or Korea war RUSE would fit the game better than one in a modern setting.

Actually if you think about it, a modern warfare ruse would be more like:

"Sir, the enemy have created a new base",
*Button press sound*
"Cruse missle away, all units brace for victory"
*Loud explosion*
"Enemy base destroyed"

Lets face it R.u.s.e in the modern era would be 3D missle command, no-one would bother with ground fighting if civilains wern't involved, especially when spy satelites can see everything and the superpowers have accsess to seemingly unlimited resources of airbourne bombs/missles.

Am I the only one who finds the automatic assumption that a WW2 game must go on to become a modern warfare game disappointing?

Surely you don't just want all games to go through this cycle...it would just be the same game, but modern...

I've already played ruse and can already tell it's one of my favorite games to date. But before ruse 2 is released I'd like to see a real good expansion pack for ruse 1 with:

-JAPAN
-more maps
-JAPAN
-addition of naval maps
-JAPAN
-more units (land and naval)
-oh and I almost forgot...JAPAN!!!

Adding japan will give the game the true feel of an actual world war. But adding japan would mean adding a variety of different naval units as it would add and interesting twist to the game. Just because you have good tactics for land battle doesn't mean you will do well at sea because the units and ruses will be vastly different.

I almost feel leaving japan out of a WW2 game is a dishonor to those who died to defeat it.

I think a good fit for the engine could be 15th to 19th century wars: 30-years way, Napoleonic, etc.

this has been discused in a previouse topic and yes a modern ruse would be cool but they should start with a ww2 expansion and then go on to vietnam and korea and so on...
