I really wouldn't want to be Gaddafi's troops

Lot of good "hiding" the truck in the trees did you there, buddy. Didn't work...
Apparently, it seems that the gun is only useful on pinpoint targets at very close range. Judging by the amount of time between the camera shake from the gun firing to the rounds hitting the ground around the target, I'd guess the trucks were at least 2.5 miles away. Too far unless you're firing at groups of infantry.
I think you're not far off the mark with the distance there Treetop.
The Apache will be firing from long range so the target will barely be able to hear it and so the Hellfires can get a good lock on their target.
I had thought the 30mm was more accurate than is shown, but that may be down to the Apache firing while moving, or it could be the length of the burst...
Caution: the above post may contain levels of bulls**t lethal to people who obsess over attention to detail. I will check my facts at a later date, maybe when I'm bored at work...
A random google for the specs on a Hughes M230 reveals a max range of 4500 meters but effective range for accurate fire/good penetration of only 1500m .Originally posted by GratedLeeman:

Ah well, I'll paint a "shared victory" on my desk!
