I may be the unluckiest person in the world..

However the last 3 times I have flown the P-47D and been hit by enemy fire I have had total landing gear faliure.
I've flown the game for 3 years, and in that time I've only had it occur once in other planes.

Does anyone else have this experience? If not I will have to ensure I record tracks from now on... its the getting hit part that is hard

I had it two times in Ki-61 campaign. I was even trying to lower gear manually (pumping the binded key for "manually lower gear"). Didn't worked .

I am positive that I have experienced this on several other occasions (but I can't remember exactly).

I've had this a few times. I wish it happened on other aircraft, loss of hydraulic pressure. Manual still works every time though.

hmmm I should remember to map those keys.

I only do after a reinstall on the rare occasion that I fly the I-16 etc.

Get this in the Me110 a lot, but you can manually lower most of the time when it does happen.

    To me happened the follow:
Was on a low level bombing/strafing run in a P-40E, attacking some Japanese positions defended by AA.
Right at the moment I dropped my bomb on a flak position, I was hit by my target. Pulled back and to right to avoid the bomb blast and checked my plane. The engine was hit but still functioning, and looked it will held together for the ride home. As I checked for other damage, I was really surprised to see that my left wing undersurface was holed (little holes, indeed. But the stunning thing was that the left oleopneumatic leg of the landing gear was gone, together with the wheel. The rest of my plane was almost undamaged. I myself was seriously wounded (got the red vision screen) but still conscious.
When I was near the airstrip, I lowered the landing gear with no difficulty (only the right main leg and the tailwheel) and made a great landing.
Took some screenshots during the flight, and made of them pictures to add to the book I´m writing. I´m actually involved in constructing a Campaign following the book, and sometimes what is happening while flying to test the missions goes in the book if worth.
