I was surfaced and concentrating on a fishing boat, but the weather was too rough to shoot it. Well, the little SOB radioed my position and the next thing I know a bomber starts dropping depth charges on top of me. Scared the **** out of me with the surround sound cranked! Needless to say I crash dived and got out of there..........

When after two extremly good missions I found out that I had to start all over again!!!!

I have 2, one i am going to put in a write up when i get time (i keep saying that...) and the other was a near collision like your beery.

No fog but trying to set up for a shot on a Norwegian frieghter, i took so long and messed about in the end he turned to ram me.

HARD RIGHT RUDDER FLANK SPEED!! All i could do was watch open mouthed.



Just avoided him... After the indignation of being almost rammed in bright sunlight i opened the rear torp ready to make him pay!

And ...


Boom!!! That will teach you!


Jeezus the nutter was loaded with ammo, i can feel the heatwave from the blast... No eyebrows as i duck below the tower! Sheesh i was lucky i didnt get rammed...


Back broken the poor guys sink into the depths, the flag still erily(sp?) fluttering.

I felt a little less guilty for that one

I got a radio report that there was a large convoy in the area. I decided I would goto where I thought they would be, and camped out. Hours later, I get a sound contact, the ships are right where I thought they would be. Visibility is only 500 meters though, I best get close. Raise parascope!....hmmmm....rotate to 270degrees....AAAHHH!!! smash! Scared the cr ap out of me, there was nothing I could do. A destroyer going about 15 knots creamed my con tower, and sunk me.

Hmm. I'm looking at the second screenshot in that group. While you're watching open-mouthed, what are the watch crew looking at? Did a naked Nicole Kidman just surface off the port beam?

rofl i never noticed that, something interesting!! Maybe a mermaid... no wonder i nearly got rammed in broad daylight... there i am in the tower messing with protractors and charts and they are checking out totty...

On the guilty thing, i feel guilty sinking allies, its hard for me as a brit/italian lol. Its also compounded by the fact these guys are not really fighting. Not to get into a whole ethics debate but total war is not very nice. (And yes im aware its a game!)

Its like the bismarck short mission, when im lining up the king george my brain is going

"wow dom, look at that ship, its kicking ***!!! Do you really want to fire? Do you? Just wait a few seconds it will be too late, then you can sail away... just dive dom and use the external camera to watch the fun, you know it makes sense!!" lol though maybe im a bit mad...

Waited on the surface (like a fool) in heavy fog for a lone merchant.

Rammed my a$$ and during my first successful patrol.

Learned two lessons that patrol. Save after each successful sinking and never attack on the surface in fog.

Torpedo bounce away from a T3 tanker

Mine was last patrol last night. I was looking for a Convoy in fog. The Sonar was all over the place. Noticed a Tanker 350 Yards away, barly could see it. Started to get in position for a shot. Little did I know that anohter C2 Cargo was coming behind me. I crashed dive It came right over me.
After a few minutes decided to go to Periscope depth again, when I started coming up another ship was just passing over me and It just barly hit my conning tower.. All I heard was this grinding sound. That was scary. Dived again. Conning tower was slightly damaged. And the ship did survive. Sounds like we just scrapped a little bit. LOL.

Tracking a contact in heavy fog with hydrophone. Plotted what I thought was an intercept course. After over shooting the target used SO to locate target again. Made the mistake of being on the surface when I turned into the contact. A few minutes later WO shouts "ship spotted." Jump on deck to look around, C2 bearing down on me at about 200 m. Felt like I was on the Titanic. Hard rudder to port, but too late. The C2 raked my entire ship stem to stern. Flooding in 5 compartments. Hull integrity down to 15%. Did manage to limp home in one piece.
