Just asking before I go and do one myself....

No point in replecating if there's already one out there! I've got a couple of choice angles and favour 4x250kg.

    Thanks!

Take AEP disc 2, and open it up via 'Explore' in My Computer, go to MANUAL, go to IAS/TAS chart or something like that, open it, and print it out.

Nah, I don't mean just an IAS/TAS chart, I have that, I'm after an elevation chart for the Pe-2 bombsight for accurate drops from altitude.

    For instance:

    3000m @ 370kmh IAS = 445kmh TAS and a sight elevation of 44 degrees.

It's not so simple, it also depends on what type of bomb you have loaded (as written in the documentation given by Oleg).

But why bother when the bombsight is doing all calculations for you?

Yeah, I favour the 4x250kg loadout.

And I'm an old fashioned kinda guy who enjoys manually pickling weapons (plus its handy in a fix to have a selection of commonly used manual release angles if you spot a target of opportunity and haven't time to set up the sight computer).

Out of interest, and I've not played with it much yet, is there sight automation on the Pe-2? If there is, is it mapped differently to that on the B25/He-111 (the key I have mapped doesn't have any effect in the Pe-2).

I don't know anything about that but I just wanted t thank you for your Level Bombing Guide. It's magnificent and thanks to you I'm now having a lot of fun bombing anything on the ground in my trusty B-25

    Why thankyou!

If I ever get a spare weekend I'll update it for the Pe-2 (hence the questions), it's looking a little long in the tooth these days
