I logged onto my Xbox today and started up YSFE... and I got a big update (took about 15 minutes to download). I was pretty surprised to come here and not see any discussion about an update. Anyone know what this is about?

My game didn't get an update today, however, my son told me that our console did today and it was a rather large one (maybe 10 minute download).

Here is what I've been able to find so far (sounds like there were 2 updates...one quick, then a reboot and a longer one according to blogs)..

If you turn your Xbox 360 on today you will be prompted for a system update. Today's update includes a couple of new features, one which was an old feature that is coming back due to popular demand. Boot to Disc, which means when you start your console the game in the drive starts is a feature that was taken out of the Xbox dashboard when the fall update came late in 2010. Utilizing common sense it was decided that people just want to play their games when starting their VIDEO GAME console.
Also included in the update, will alter your gamercard ever so slightly. The look and feel of the Gamer Card will change a bit taking away the Gamer Zone listing, so you can no longer classify yourself as underground, eventhough you still are.
Major Nelson didn't specify the size of the update but it is likely it is small and unnoticeable. To access the Boot To Disc feature you will need to change it on your System Settings Blade.
This update may have included a piracy check:

Ah, I was hoping it was an update for YSFE since I got it when the game was starting up.

My update started right after I finished my YSFE workout and was opening Active 2, so I initially associated it with Active 2. But then because of the size and the boot between 2 updates I figured it was something more general. Thanks for the details, Alnark.

I was all primed for a Your Shape workout yesterday when I turned on my 360 and had to wait for the update to download and finish. I knew the update wasn't for Your Shape though as I'd been forewarned about it on the general Xbox forums that I'd read about during the day and then promptly forgot until it happened.
Maybe I'm imagining it, but I was able to use the Kinect to go through the dashboard menu. Not sure if that's new with the update or if I just never noticed it before.

The past two updates for YSFE have been to add the in-game menu options to purchase the DLC workouts...at least that has been my experience.
