I've read reviews of SH3. A few suggest it's a contender for game of the year.
My only prblem is I'm not sure I'd enjoy it's gameplay mechanics.
As far as other games I have to agree with Feathered_IV. I optomistically install games. Some stay on. Others don't last or if I reformat the hard drive they never make it back.
Genre wise I like racing games. ('Need for Speed' need not apply) Few stay on very long. I wish I had started my computer experience earlier so I could have taken advantage of Grand Prix Legends. With all the patching necessary, plus I need to have my comp running smooth with no corruption for work, I decided not to go down the GPL road. Next comp I'll try it.
But invariably I come back to IL2 no matter how long I vacation from it.
My other guilty pleasure is on Playstation. I like the Tomb Raider series. The virtual exploration and discovery is interesting. It's a bit hoary with age now so the lustre is off but there are a lot of good gameplay memories for me.
IL2 is primary, but RTW is the next one with UT2004 which I touch maybe once a month or 2. It`s so tempting to run other games such as Morrowind, SHIII (which is excellent btw), but there simply isn`t enough time in one`s life.
Some quality games can really take up a good chunk of your life, so it`s essential to select a very limited few so you don`t burnout on one and have space to get on with your real life. Which after all is the one that really counts.![]()
I chose "Other". Aside from this sim, I'm mostly a Role Playing Game player (Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege, the Japanese RPGs on the consoles, etc.). Not MMORPGs, though. I won't shell out any more money after buying the game in order to play it.
Right now, I am also playing GTA: San Andreas on the PC.
