I lost 11 crewmembers on my latest patrol on U-391 fighting the war with 29. Boat was hit right on deck with a bomb and a DC probably blew up under the boat. Boat caught on fire all watchcrew killed most of my torpedo crew killed and men in fore crew compartment go killed. It was terrible ride home barely able to stop the boat from sinking. Running on surface flank speed was my only chance and with a little luck on board this time was able to do it. Hull Integrity was down to 18%.

ive never lossed a crew member due to a storm or a death. but this morning i lossed the whole boat. just one, i repeat just one depth charge exploded 2 or 3 meters behind me and about a meter below me and caused my stern to flood just one room but i started a dive and didnt get on it quick enough till she started sinking by the stern and the u boat wasnt moving forwards anymore till stern hit bottom where i killed the engines and put every possible crewmember in the repair work but it was pump a few feet of water out and fix some damage and get 2 or 3 feet more water that went on for 3 or 4 mins till the repair crew was lossed. it was a real pitty cause i still had more men to put to the repair work but im glad you can sit on bottom and not lower your hull intergerty constantly or damage rooms constantly i got damage in the two most rear compartments infront of the aft tube compartment but nothing more than yellow.
