At least,This is the first time i lost a crewman. I only got dead crewmen, when i am also dead lol.

Poor matrosengefreiter Gerhard Scholz was on the flak when we were under attack by aircraft's. He even got 2 aircraft kills! But then a Swordfish droped a bom right on top off him! So do you guys ever got a dead or a wounded crewman

Sometimes, not often though. The "men down on the deck" thing still gives me the heebies, even though they're just pixels and code.

If it gets that bad, I find that I lose the whole boat and crew, a la Death Screen.

I had an entire compartment flood and it killed every member in it. It was the Bow quarters, my medic was in there. lol. I lived for another 30 seconds though.

Once I lost several crewmembers to repeated airattacks. In a series of duels I lost 5, but they managed to bring down some 15 enemies.

Baldricks_Mate, do they stay on the deck if they die??? I just run off to the mangement screen and bury them (and put up new crew).

This first time I encountered a plane I tried to battle it out. I first lost my main flak man. I put a second guy in, and he got killed too. My third flak man went on to shoot down over 40 aircraft, so he was better anyways.

I imagine that they do, in that the bodies are able to be moved from place to place and left until a return to port but I have never gone back to port with them onboard. I have always (!) buried them at sea, so far.

I cannot help but feel the effect on the surviving crew's morale of having comrade's dead bodies in their quarters (never) or work and action spaces (just as bad). Once the engagement has ceased, of course. There is enough to do manning pumps and other damage control.

Better a moving and respectful (and therefore morale preserving) burial at sea...

"kann der Seeumschlag unser gefallener Kamerad in ihr ewiges vom Rest umfassen..."

(may the sea envelope our fallen comrade into her eternal embrace of rest...)

Just the other day I had my FIRST wounded crewman! I was so happy, since I never believed it would happen.

Unfortunatly, since I never believe this happened, I never invested in a medic!

I threw him in the petty officers (forward) quarters in all his agony, shot him up with morphine to quell his yells and continued my quest for TONNAGE..."MISSION FIRST, CREW ALWAYS!"

He survived the entire patrol and the nurses back at port were happy to see him, or was that the other way around

I've had a couple wounded but they never were offered the wound badge at the end of the patrol. Has anybody been able to award one of those?
