After a long time of not putting together anything I have a couple of campaign releases coming very soon. So I am pleased to announce The Dragon Skies as the first of my new campaign releases!

This is a 15 mission campaign loosely based on the historical missions of 812 IAP during the Crimea campaign in the spring of 1944. During the campaign you will divide your time between the Yak-1B and the Yak-9T which were two of the more common variants available for this squadron. The campaign is inspired by the fantastic skin package by Emel: http://www.axis-and-allies-pai...topic.php?f=62&t=352

I'm working out a couple of 4.10 related bugs but I should have this available in the next several days!

    Very nice.

    And it's stock 4.10? (I hope).

It would be good to go back to the roots of the sim again.

Yep should have mentioned that it's stock 4.10. I started developing on 4.09 so there isn't much that I can get out of 4.10 (the Yak's don't have radio navigation so far as I can tell) except for some of the custom weather and the better markings. I've tried to lay nav points so that if you're navigating by landmarks and map coordinates it's not too hard (with a couple of exceptions).

So far the cover art looks promising.
I'm guessing this is based on the 812th from the book DRAGONS ON BIRD WINGS?

Loosely (I always tag my campaigns as semi-historical). I consulted Emel who knows quite a bit about Yaks and he used the book for his skin packages. Sadly I wasn't able to get a hold of the actual book... So this is only loosely based on their operations. Probably looser than what I did with Storm Clouds which I grabbed a lot of initial ideas out of the excellent 2nd TAF books which have day by day operations.

As always I try to string the line between historical fact and entertaining missions in a campaign. You'll nearly always meet the enemy on a mission and it's nearly always winnable if you do it right.

Also real screen shots on the way shortly. I'm still collecting the good ones.

Thanks and will do! I plan to include one or two of yours either in this project or the next Yak campaign project which is at 90% now and I will announce after this one is released
