Ok, this is your chance to tell the world which aviation museum you like most and why.
I'll start with the RAF Museum, London (
cause it's the nearest to my place
)

The National Museum Of The United States Air Force, at Wright Field, Dayton Ohio.
Two hours from me by car.
Simply the best. From the Wright Model B Flyer to the F22, and beyond.
And it is free.
Be sure.

The Imperial War Museum, London has some interesting aircraft. A V2, a Lancaster cockpit/fuselage you can walk through*, a HE-162 hanging from the ceiling and some others that I can't remember.
*I dicovered there that a Lancaster front gunner had to sit for the whole flight with his head between the navigator's legs (er.....that's facing outwards). Design flaw, or maybe it was intentional.

erm, that would be teh bomb aimer, with his head between the front guners legs. but it was the bomb aimer who maned the turret
there was a gunner there on the dambusting raids tho

Sure Pingu, I stand corrected, it was just a vague recollection of some information I picked up last time I was there, which must have been 10 years ago.

Naval air museum in Pensacola Floride. I'm sure there are better one's but this is the best one I've been to. A large collection of very well maintianed airplanes, very friendly staff that's very good at letting you see stuff up close (i.e. cockpits) if you ask nicely.
