Most of the achievements are self-explanatory but some of them need more planning, are bugged but can be completed or are broken.
Heroes VI Main game
25th Anniversary
Play for 25 Might and Magic years. (8400 turns)
It seem that the rounds are not counted on every map or that you have to be completely alone on a map to make progression on the bar. Anyway it seems to work on "Towards the Within", the 2nd Necropolis campaign map and "Fearful Symmetry", the 2nd Inferno campaign map. Defeat every enemy if needed and after that end turns like a madman.
Note: According to K0yunus at least on skirmish maps like "Tree of Plenty" or "Reign in Hell" it should work properly now.
Arcane Omniscience
Attain 1000 Maximum Mana with your Main Hero.
You obviously need to visit the Dragon Nexus to accomplish this achievement. The easiest way to get this is on a advanced campaign map with a magic type hero (like Anastasya or Irina). Skirmish maps may not provide enough set artifacts to reach this much mana.
Caesarean Rescue
Kill the Abyssal Worm while digesting one of your creatures.
The worm only uses its digest ability when its life points have fallen between 50k and 30k.
Champion, Grand Champion, Hero & Grand HeroOriginally posted by Tsyac-Enigma:
The way I got it was...which I found best, is to get the worm to about half of his health and then don't attack it, just go full defensive and keep moving the small units (single square units) to stand next to it.
Eventually she will eat one and when she does you need to kill her before the unit is fully devoured.
When you've done that it will give you achievement as intended.
Sometimes it'll simply take more than one fight reset to get it done, but it does work (after beating her with a failed attempt, just reset and try again).
Complete a campaign Map/a whole campaign reaching at least Champion/Hero rank. (Rank awarded depends on your total score and the difficulty level.)
These four achievements are bugged in the v1.1 version of the game and won't be awarded, but they can be completed with the release and the 1.2 version.
Close and Personal
Win 25 combats without firing a single shot.
This seems to include shots from the hero, likewise In Yog’s Footsteps may not be gained if unit spells are used. Defeating an enemy hero without an army always gets you a won combat with these limitations and raises the counter.
Collector I, Collector II & Master Collector
Complete 3/5/7 different artifact sets.
Some or only one artifact set may not register correctly for this achievement, even if the specific set achievement was completed before. It seems to be possible to complete the achievement under unknown circumtances though. damianjcoles may have stepped on a solution:
Divine AbsenceOriginally posted by damianjcoles:
Hey, I may have some good news for you!! I was just replaying the 2nd map of the Inferno campaign when my Master Collector achievement activated! I was having the exact same problem so here's what happened:
I had finished both 'Nelsham's Scar' and 'Prisoner of War' quests and approached upon completing the 'Growing Pains' quest (Free the Breeders) as I completed the quest, I received the Warping Pendant as a reward which activated 2 achievements: Master Collector (obviously) and Master Adventurer (50 side quests complete). So I'm not sure which of those things triggered it but its fixed for me. Hopefully this helps.
Defeat Uriel while killing all minions affected by Divine Presence within one turn.
Maybe the description is wrong or misleading, but this can only be done by defeating Uriel and the affected units in the same turn and make sure that Uriel is killed first. Alternatively you get this by defeating Uriel before he could cast Divine Presence for the first time.
Don't Mess With Me, You Asked For It & Reap what you Sow
Destroy at least 3/5/7 creature stacks with your retaliation strikes in the same combat.
This is definitely bugged, but still can work sometimes.
For me it worked in the last campaign map of the Necropolis with Anastasya against an Inferno hero outside of a town. There may be more working parameters, but it's definitely not possible while fighting inside a Arena map building, because I tried that with all different faction heroes before.
To get Reap what you Sow you have to plan a lot more to get the ranged units of the enemy to attack you. The Taunt war cry is definitely useless and won't let your creature counterattack. Instead you have to carefully decimate the stack so the enemy hero will sacrifice this unit to use the counterstrike of your creature up. The Counterstrike I-III abilities are helpful but not needed to get these achievements. By retaliation strikes defeated summoned (spell of gating) creatures will also count towards your score.
A useful tactic from Mattmaxfr:
For the AudienceOriginally posted by Mattmaxfr:
There is a very simple way to do it in fact. If you have finished the Inferno campaign with Tear reputation, you will face Michael in the epilogue. Just take Counterstrike level III and build a strong stack of Hell Hounds. At first round, push them forward and wait for all the guardians to attack it. When the first round is over you have killed the 10 stacks and when the fight is over, you should get the achievement.
Kill Michael with at least 4 minions still alive.
This may be not bugged at all, just very hard to do. If some of the minions are still alive after you defeated Micheal but the fight is won at the same time, you won't get this achievement.
Mattmaxfr posted a simple guide to get it:
Note: The requirement was reduced to 1 minion with patch 1.5, the strategy should be the same however but now the Puppet Master spell should be the better alternative (thanks koltolv).Originally posted by Mattmaxfr:
So to come back to how I manage to do For the Audience, the main point is indeed to manage to petrify 4 gardians at a time. To do so here are the prerequisites :
- A magical tear heroe with full Earth branch boosted (including earth elemental, petrification and 3xEarth power)
- If possible avoid taking counter-attack talents (not to kill too much gardians with retaliations)
- Being a Sanctuary hero will help (Tsunami incapacitate the gardians for 2 turns and Race ability gives an interesting ponctual damage boost)
- Buy as much scroll of Earth Elementals as you can
- Staff of Asha lvl 5 is mandatory
- Vast archer/casters army but not too vast not to kill gardians upon retaliation on Michael (archers have most of the time a lesser retaliation power). Avoid at all cost infinite retaliations units (griffins, hell hounds etc.)
When you have all this, here is approximately the sequence you need to perform :
- First round: Petrification (with Staff of Asha lvl 5, it should last at least 9 turns), spread your units all over the map.
- Second round: Invoke earth elemental in a corner of the map, gards every other unit
- Third round: Tsunami, this will stun all gardians and get rid of retaliation kills
- Fourth round: reinforce your highest attack unit stack. Gard all units.
- Fifth round: cast petrification once again (it should last 4 turns), make all units wait, including your earth elems. When the earth elem turn comes again, make it petrify a gardian and go to next turn.
- Sixth round: this is it ! You should be first in the order, so cast a new earth elem spell and anything that could help your damage so far (Sanctuary racial ability for example). With these new elems, petrify the fourth gardian stack and FULL ATTACK. The goal is to take over Michael before any of the gardian de-petrify, which is a very short lapse of time. If this happens, STOP ALL damage and wait for being able to cast a spell again. When possible, cast a new earth elemental using a scroll (no cooldown) and re-petrify the gardian.
There is a big part of technique (/luck/improvisation) to make the plan work but it is feasible. You just have to insist. Maybe there is a simpler way but I did not find it (yet).
Guardian, Vagrant, Warlord, Trickster, Prophet, Magister, Regent
Equip all parts of the [respective] Set.
The mathematical chance to assemble one of the sets on a skirmish map is extremly low, so I assembled the following sets within the campaigns by completing (almost) every quest:
Haven: Guardian, Prophet
Inferno: Trickster, Warlord, Magister
Necropolis: Magister, Vagrant, Warlord
Sanctuary: Prophet, Guardian
Stronghold: Warlord, Regent, Prophet
These may vary, but there should be at least two complete sets (might & magic) for each campaign.
Reversal/Repentance
Change the class of a Main Hero from basic Tears to advanced Blood./Change the class of a Main Hero from basic Blood to advanced Tears.
These two achievements are for skirmish maps only, but seem to be locked on some of them. A map that will defintely work is "Tree of Plenty", thanks x_AcEsHoT_o.
Terminator & Greedy
Destroy all neutral armies on a map.\Complete a map with no resources left in the ground.
These two achievements may sound simple but they seem to be not awarded every time the conditions seem to be met.
Firstly try to get those two on a skirmish map instead of a campaign map, because the campaign maps are designed in a more special way (hidden areas with invisible enemies or characters) and second use the kingdom overview (short key "o" or the arrow at the bottom left of your mini map) to see, if there are still treasures or creatures to be found. Sometimes treasure can't be collected because the map designer placed them inside a doodad like a rock for example or maybe the didn't appear when the map was loaded for the first time and can't be seen (even if the mini map shows them), this happens mostly on water.
The Gathering Storm
Spend 100 mana with a single hero ability on the Week of Mana Storm.
This is only possible with Armageddon (Inferno Magic Blood II), Father Sky's Wrath (Stronghold Magic Blood II) and Sacrifice (Necropolis Magic Tears II). These are the only spells that cost 80 mana (and thus 100 mana in a Week of Mana Storm) by default. You may have problems getting these achievements in a campaign or with some artefacts equipped.
Weapon Master II, II & Armed and Dangerous
Obtain 5/10/20 Dynasty Weapons.
Sometimes the game won't register the weapon you just found or unlocked through the different ULC codes. From my experience every dynasty weapon counts for this achievement. If you're having trouble to get this achievement working try to equip the weapons on a hero in a Skirmish game. Earning experience with the weapon seems not be mandatory.
Shades of Darkness Addon
Angrier than you
During the Enraged Kirin boss fight, kill the Kirin in the turn it becomes Enraged.
To fullfill this achievement the Kirin has to be killed exactly in the same round it becomes enraged (check the battle log) at around 30% of its health. Notice that if your initiative is too high, you're units will have to wait to avoid the Kirin becoming enraged right before the turn ends.
Choose Your Poison
Kill 300 creatures with poison.
Apparently the only poison ability that counts towards this achievement is Siege Master II. Thanks to AvatarOfLight for sharing this information.
Impregnable I-IV
Destroy an enemy army two-five times as strong as your Hero's in a siege defense combat.
This comes down to possessing a hero on a very hight level with good stats and buff/debuff skills. koltolv provided the following strategy:
The Final SprintOriginally Posted by koltolv Go to original post
In the second Dungeon campaign map, capture the dragon dwelling with the enemy Hero inside the final room.
To be awared with this achievement, one of Raelag's two brothers has to be really close (2-3 "dots" according to lightwizardofoz, for me past the obelisk was enough) to the dragons. Try to influence their movement by blocking the path and don't no hesitate to kill the brother that is about to get the dragons in one turn.
Raggedy man, I remember you
Save at least 3 friendly creature stacks from the Void Gate during the Avatar of the Void boss fight.
Don't confuse "Void gate" with the "Void rift", koltolv explains the situation:
Underground King I/IIOriginally Posted by koltolv Go to original post
Capture a total of 25/50 Towns or Forts underground.
This achievement would normally take a whole lot of time, glady x_AcEsHoT_o provided a faster solution:
If you could help me with the red marked achievements I would be grateful. If you have problems with some achievements on the other hand yourself, we can figure them out together.Originally Posted by x_AcEsHoT_o Go to original post
Special thanks to everyone for contributing in this thread.
I got Arcane Omniscience easily in the Necro campaign (Had 660 base mana before doubling).
25th was at 0 forever for me, but is now stuck at 46. Seems weird.
Champion and Hero are bugged for me as well.
I have Don't Mess With Me without using Counterstrike III (although I imagine that would help). I wasn't even trying for it.
So far the only Achievement I've struggled trying to get is Uriel's. He only cast the ability on one stack before I killed him. I then killed that stack which seems to meet the requirements for the Achiev, but it didn't work.
Easy to do in necro campaign, my hero had over 500+ base mana by the endArcane Omniscience
Attain 1000 Maximum Mana with your Main Hero.
What's the best way to get 1000 mana? Obvisously the Dragon Nexus is needed but only the base mana stats (Mana=Magic Defense+Magic Power) or doubled not the ones acquired through artifacts. So is the complete "Magister's Set" needed or can this be done in a campaign?
I got the first achieve (3 stacks) during the necro campaign (no counterstrike III). It's just what it says, enemy stacks need to attack your stacks and be killed by the retaliation. Counterstrike III would probably help, if it works with the achieve properly. Getting 7 stacks is probably difficult since ranged enemy stacks will tend to not melee you if they could run out instead. So you'd need to either surround them, or the "Taunt" ability (forces adjacent stacks to a friendly to attack that friendly) could force them into attackingDon't Mess With Me, You Asked For It & Reap what you Sow

This doesn't work for me. Is this bugged or do I have to use "Counterstrike III"?
25th Anniversary
Play for 25 Might and Magic years. (8400 turns)
I don't get it. The bar does not advance, it stays at 3 for me.
go into one of the necro levels where you their is no one taking turns and just spam E for like 300 months???? roughly i think) and you'll get it takes like an hour and 20 mins of constant spamming i watched house while i did this

for me i just killed everything in one turn after he cast the spell.
i made sure i killed the boss first, then killed the unit
had to retry a few times because the achievement didn't proc
