I too went to the Intrepid in NYC about 6 years ago. Either they didn't have the Growler there yet, or they wouldn't let us on that day. I did get to go on the destroyer Essex, which the tour guide told us had been in the Pacific during WWII. Funny, the brass commissioned plate stated the boat was commissioned in 1958. Hmmmm, I thought the war ended in '45. Stupid me.
