BD-5A. They are a joy to fly.
    Very fast and cheap.
But a known widow maker also.

Looks like something Q would cobble together for one of 007's missions.

A BD-5 was used in the James Bond film Octopussy.

Of course! Shoulda known why my muse whispered that connection in my ear. And I can now see it on the movie screen behind my eyes. It's been a long time since I saw that one...

Not to be knit-picky or anything. But to be knit-picky, it's not a BD-5!! It's a BD-5J, the "J" standing for jet of course. The regular BD-5 was a pusher prop recip instead of a jet and looked exactly the same except for the prop at the back. The planes were designed by Jim Bede, which is where the "BD" came from since his name is pronounced like that but like "BD" said rapidly. He was an aeronautical engineer designer of some accomplishment.

There were a lot more BD-5s made/built than 5Js by far.

Oops, my apologies!! It is a BD-5!! The prop at the back was not clear to me at first. And yes, a BD was used in the film Octopussy but it was the J model, having the jet engine.
