Well, I'm getting framerates that are high enough that I don't think about them at 1024*768 (I don't have 1024*640 as an option in this game), let's put it that way. I guess that would probably be over 45 fps, but I have a pretty old machine, 2.53 Ghz P4 with 1 gig of RAM.. If it's high enough that I don't think about it, then I usually don't use anything to find out because what I don't know doesn't bother me.
I get about 12fps on my voodoo 3 2000 16mbramOriginally posted by Thoramir:

I have a X1600 Pro 256mb card, 1gb ram and an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ running at 2.08 GHz. I first got an average of 22 fps with FRAPS, then i tried it 10 mins later and got an average of 39. It's playing at 1024*768 with everything on high, looks good and plays smoothly enough. I recently upgraded from a Radeon 9500, decided to go for a cheap card upgrade (â£105 delivered) until Vista and DirectX 10 are out, and so far I'm not disappointed.
Im getting from a low of 19, average of 27, to highs of 38 fps in more closed surroundings. This is with HDR on at 1024x768x75 all settings max including texture settings enabled in Redering Settings .xml file. Playable but sluggish.
With HDR off in .xml file (<variable name="post_effect_quality" value="false"/>I get lows of 25, average of 36, to highs of 51 fps with the same resolutions and other settings max. Looks much better without the Golden effect and I get to see my guys Crye Precision multicam patterns much clearly and gameplay is much smoother.

Running the demo with a P42.4Ghz proc, 1Gb XMS PC3200 mem, Sapphire 256mb X1600PRO.
I'm glad to see that others with the X1600 Pro are able to play GRAW.
I've got the X1600 Pro 512MB, but I haven't been able to run the game at all yet.
My question is for those of you with this card, please let me know what settings you're running in the CCC (Catalyst Control Center).
I've only seen the initial GRAW logo with black background and mouse cursor, followed by the Windows error reporting prompt and this info:
AppName: graw.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: ct_oal.dll
ModVer: 5.12.1.441 Offset: 00010636
My system specs:
WinXP Pro, Ver 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2, Build 2600.
I built my own system.
Mainboard: ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe
RAM: 4 x 512 matched Corsair PC-3200XL-PRO XMS Memory
Processor: Intel 3.20E Prescott
250GB WD SATA Drive
200GB WD SATA Drive
Sony DRU-810A DVD RW Drive
BIOS Version/Date/American Megatrends Inc. 1016.001, 2/23/2004
SMBIOS Version 2.3
ATI Radeon X1600 PRO 512MB using the Catalyst 6.4 driver and DirectX 9.0c and one 19" monitor currently in 1024 x 768 @ 72Hz refresh rate.
I've experimented with the settings in the ATI Catalyst Control Center to no avail.
For those of you using the X1600, I need to know what your settings are in the Catalyst Control Center. When replying, just copy this and edit it with your settings that are working for you.
My current settings are:
3D
\Standard Settings: Balanced
\Anti-Aliasing: Let the application decide
\Adaptive Anti-Aliasing: Enabled/Quality
\Anisotrophic Filtering: Let the application decide. High Quality AF is NOT enabled
\Catalyst A.I.: is Not Disabled
\Mipmap Detail Level: High Quality
\API Specific: Direct3D has Enabled Geometry instancing, and Support DXT texture formats. Alternate pixel center is NOT checked.
OpenGL: Triple Buffering is the only item checked.
It's a lot of info, but if you have info to help, I'm grateful for it.
Thanks,
Sniper121
I'm running the X1600 XT using the Omega drivers (Omegadrivers.net). You might try this driver as it appears to be better than the ATI driver.Originally posted by SNIPER_121:
