So Ezio found a letter refering to the hidden library at masyaf, is this the same letter that Ezio got in AC2 that he couldn't open? I haven't missed anything have I? Just thought I'd ask, thanks!

Nah, that was to Lorenzo. Ezio says he found the letter you're talking about much later on. There'd be no real reaosn to discuss something like that with Lorenzo, who only used Giovanni for political assassinations. Hope that helps

Awesome thanks for clearing that up! I replayed AC2 a few months back, a few of the details are still fuzzy prepping for revelations >.< It just rang a bell when he mentioned the letter in the trailer, thanks heaps

Also, in ACII Ezio eventually gets back the letter and gets to read it.

And the letter you're talking about was written before Ezio was born.

I kind of want to know which assassin in Constantinople Giovanni was sending it to. Yusuf is younger than Ezio, so it couldn't have been him.

He did send the letter (past tense). Ezio found it amongst Mario's personal items after the events depicted in Brotherhood.
