I must begin with apologies to JG2 - having promised him pics of a Sdkfz 222, I discovered there isn't one at Bovington. Sorry, mate - hope there's something else here you like.

I took over 100 3072 x 2304 pixel piccies today - if you really like one I post, or are modelling a vehicle and would like a reference, sing out here and provided I've got one, I'll upload a big, high quality pic or two for you.

Anyway, on with the show - exterior shots from the way in: gateguards, restorations in waiting ( I think the Crusader turret's a bit too far gone) and the Royal Tank Regiment memorial...

    More soon...

Another confession - much as I love WWI armour, the exhibits are surrounded by 'activity points' for children. Whilst it's great too see youngsters geting involved and interested, it doesn't make for great pics. So it was straight through to the inter-war bit - where hordes of excited littl'uns didn't quite get in the way as much...

There are more WWI vehicles in the new exhibition hall...

...but I'm afraid that my pics are mainly WWII vehicles.

A brace of King Tigers in the WWII hall...

That's a Tank A1E1, Independent (E1949.331) rumoured to have been defending Bovington camp in 1940.

That armadillo thingy was de-reguer graffiti and excercise book decoration at my school - that's dated me.

    Howdy Billy!

It's a pleasant walk through nice scenery from Wool station on the Waterloo/Weymouth line, Dan - go for it.

It'll be up and running in no time, Treetop.

I'll round off the big cats before bedtime...

Wow, is that Panther D? a new exhibit? I was there maybe 5 years ago and I don't remember seeing it. The Jagdpanther seems to have had a new paint job, might be my eroding memory though. And last but not least, is that first shot an early Cheiftain, before it grew the massive armoured mantel?

Oh, and I'd just like to say seeing the track marks just behind the heel of that Panther, I hope they never polish them out.

No apology needed mate! Really appreciate you taking the time to upload these photos. I'll bet you had fun there! That's a fantastic museum and collection they have. Really need to get myself across the pond for a look in person. That Jagdanther is brilliant! Imagine running into that thing in a Sherman. If you got any shots of a Hellcat I would love to see them.
