Hey everyone, I've been reading this forum for a while now but never really posted, so I guess i'm just introducing myself. Anyways I just had an awesome few flights on the Spits vs 109s server. Shot down 6 109s, 1 FW-190 and 1 He-111, in a span of 3 flights, making it back unscratched each flight. Looking forward to duking it out with some of you guys within the near future, take er easy!

Welcome to the fray, So was that your first time flying on-line? If so thats not a bad run of it!!

I know the first time i went up I dont think I got a kill for days.

If you havent thought of it you should consider joining a squad. For me it took what was a pretty cool game and made it into a true hobby.

This definitely is my biggest hobby.
Eight aircraft shot down in 3 sorties is very good. This is the type of sim where even if you don't get to fire a shot or even see an enemy aircraft, but still make it back to your base for a good landing and to "refly", you still feel good about it.

That`s pretty good and lucky. I`ve been on that server a few times alone and I find it very difficult to get more than one kill before every Axis plane and its grandma are onto me.

It`s a lucky (or very skilled) man that survives 3 missions with such kills and no casualty.

Agree. I only fly on WoP servers and you defenetly gotta be an ACE to shoot down 6 me109, 1 FW and 1 HE in 3 sorties without being killed...
    Kudos

Try staying level for a bit after you take off and letting the aircraft build speed up to, say, 320 km/h before attempting to climb.

In which plane did you fight?

    Let me bet... Spitfire?

Yes I was flying a spitfire, actually the first sortie was on the winter bastogne map, so I was in a Spit IXe. Then the map switched to one of those desert ones with 109E's and Spitfire V's. I'm certainly not new to flight sims, when I was about 7 my dad bought me Chuck Yeager's Air Combat and I remember being up at about 5am everyday to get a few hours in before school started. Then for years I stopped flight simming (kinda got into first person shooters). But just a few months back stumbled across IL-2, spent hours upon hours playing Quick Mission Build scenarios over and over with unlimited ammo, just to totally master the gunnery of the game. Then took it online and it's been nothing but success since. And yes I fly the spitfire almost exclusively, I get chills just thinking about spitfires, its like I flew one in a past life or something haha.

    Nice job!

It can be very tough online vs the Axis Vets in thier Fw190's and Bf109's.

Ignore Manu, secretly his favourite plane is a SPitfire but he refuses to fly it and instead slates anyone else who does...Its just 'his way'
