Patch 1.32 for Far Cry is available now! Here's the changelog:

* Fixed a Shader Model 3.0 issue that caused graphics corruption on new ATI hardware.
* Set the game to detect nVidia hardware to avoid shaders being compiled at run time.
* Recompiled the 32bit version with a different version of STL to address some server slowdowns.
* Fixed a video playback issue to ensure compatibility with MOD SDK dll code.
* Fixed server issues when the server type was changed during a running game.
* Fixed potential crash when using RCON to start a new level.

Well, I must say that this is the first time I've been "upset" at Crytek and UBI...

Who is the mastermind that decided to release 2 different patches......with the same patch number...

I have had no trouble with this but I guarantee the most common thread here in the next 2 months will be "I installed patch 1.32, why won't FC work?"

Updated my server to 1.32.
But when i connect with version 1.31 to the server the server crashes.

I even removed GL mod maybe that was not compatible, but the problem stays. Is there some memory leak that the server cant filter the right versions, becuase you can play with the 1.32 patch client side on 1.31 servers. This is wrong.

I have the same problem.
Server crash when players using 1.31 patch is joining on my server, after i have updated to 1.32

hi guys!! I got an idea for the next patch. maybe: 1,4 or so: a nasty MINIMIZE BUTTON would be simply fantastic maybe in the upper right corner. but i wont get upset if it will be lower left. heh. the alt+tab combination simply doesnt function. alt ctrl del is too bad for this. it works, but how. ok. thats all i wanted to say. i hope my request will be heard UP THERE.

I was in contact with Geiger a little while ago. He updated FC's official US site to reflect the patch release: http://www.farcry.ubi.com/

He also initiated the official servers to be updated. Completion time is unknown.

Try this as an alternative:

1> Open your console
2> type: \r_fullscreen 0

...you can then alt+tab out the game without getting the black screen of death. When you alt+tab back into the game simply use the same command but replace 0 with 1.

Note: you can press the UP ARROW to quickly access the last console command you entered.

Here's some v1.32 patch feedback:

Updated a Far Cry dedicated game server to v1.32 and the latest Punkbuster version (v1.151 | A1335 C1.192).

Updated my client to the latest Punkbuster client version but left the Far Cry game at version 1.31.

Fired up Far Cry v1.31 on my PC, connected to the v1.32 dedicated server with PB enabled. No crash - map loads and I can play.

My suggestion is if you upgrade your dedicated server to v1.32 and run with Punkbuster enabled, be sure to update Punkbuster to the latest version.
