Why did you guys change the Water=2?
I dont like it now.. Its a small repetitive pattern that you can see for a very large distance... The beautiful water and reflections are now gone...

You added ripples to all the water settings and I dont like it...

I dont mean to gripe, but it was something I really liked about the looks of this game...

other then that, the patch is nice...
Maybe add another water setting and bring the old one back..

You dont have to set water=2, it is just an option. Water=0 or 1 is also nice.

Excellent instead of perfect is also nice.

But I am very happy with it

Hmm? Water=2 was FUBAR before... it showed reflections but no water surface. It also killed performance on nearly any system.

The new water=2 looks very much like water=3 but runs on pixel shaders 2.0 instead of 3.0.

Did it show something else on your screen?

water = 2 before never killed my system.. I was getting an average of 70fps.. and still am..
    But I loved the reflections...

    Old Water = 2

    Another Old Water =2

    New water =2

And Another New Water = 2

i am starting to like it better.. but the older version did not effect my system at all...
    I am running a fast comp.. using a 7800 GTX ACS3

    That's odd...

Using my 5900XT, the old water=2 looked like a slightly bluish, fogged over mirror. Sort of like your screenshots, but it had no ripples whatsoever. It must be a pixel shader thing. I still think it looks way too flat in your screenshots, though.

The new water=2 on my system also seems to look a bit better that what you posted... but it brings my computer to its knees. The blending doesn't look quite right on the shots you posted, or something --- or, more likely, I never really looked at it close enough on my machine.

But with a 7800 GTX you should have no problem with water=3, especially the new(ish) faster(ish) water=3. You might even get away with the new water=4.
