Yep! Revell have repackaged the Zvezda set. Looks fiddly but cleanly moulded.

Apparently it's not really possible to do as per Zvezda boxtop art with pig and gunner in sidecar, but the option image I've had away from a PMMS review suits what I'm working out...

Here's the germ of an idea...

It may or may not involve placing the SS on a wrecked/abandoned BT-7...not sure I can bring myself to do that, might just have them gatecrashing chow time for the regulars and slouching round the field kitchen limber. The cammo smocks are going to be a challenge. The pig being delivered is the icing on the cake - should liven up the potato soup.

Some nice characters to get stuck into.

@ LowFlyer Looks like it's dinner time! Poor pig. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.

@ Leit Can't wait to see that Wellesey with paint. This modeler just rebuilt one:
http://airfixtributeforum.myfa...rg/ftopic13965-0.php One heck of a wingspan on that machine!

    Stalled Hurricane project:
I'm going nuts waiting on my paint order. FedEx shows it to be here Tuesday just in time for me to go back to work. I've got lots of parts built up but nothing to do with them until the paint gets here. Might fool with something else while I wait.

I just got a thought. One of my rare occurrences.

I have seen many photos of german soldiers being trained to duck down in foxholes while tanks drive over them as a defense measure. That would make an excellent diorama IMO. Never seen it down yet.

I will probably never do it though so feel free to grab this idea up if you like it.

There is a good documentary on youtube, shows bits about this plane and his other recon missions
-Just tried to find it but came up empty, it was something to do with the mystery of Adrian Warburton.

I was looking for it, too.

Gave the Wellesley a blast of dark gray to find the defects. Resanded. Now on to serious airbrushing. Finally using the Vallejos which I bought because they thin with distilled water and have no reek. They are marvelous. They just might be the world's best airbrush paint. No nasty clean-up---hold the airbrush under running water! They have a slight sheen. They remind me of the artist's acrylics I liked best after having to quit using enamels. Here is how it looks now. As you can see from the close-up phots, Vallejos are fine-grain paints.

Strangely enough, I am enjoying ancient kits with gear up and painted over glazing. Relaxing after the usual drill of plastic modeling which can be like a second job if you really get into it.
