I wrote some missions for the Betty, but since it's become flyable the mission briefs don't show up in game.

    Answers on a postcard please...

    Cheers!

Check the filename you gave the mission. Be sure it does not contain any characters that may be used as file syntax (such as slash, dot, colon, etc.).

Also no spaces and in some cases even hyphens and underscores have caused this. Letters and numerals only.

Nope, not that. All underscores and dodgy characters removed yet still no show.

The missions and PROPERTIES files are in a named campaign in the 'IN' campaign folder. Missions from my Me163 campaign (written with version 2.04 and complete with underscores), stored similarly but in the 'DE' folder, show the briefs OK.

    Cheers!

post a copy of the .properties file.
I assume the mission loads, but there is no briefing in the text space?

Exactly. Everything worked fine until 4.01m. I'd been writing missions for the Betty using AI to test them. Now that the Betty is flyable I've run them in both the FMB and Campaign mode; the mission can be flown ok but no brief shows up.

This mission was originally 41_11_13, which worked fine in version 3.04m. Now saved as 41Nov13.PROPERTIES.

    Name 41Nov13
    Short Flight test a G4M1.\n
Description 13 November 1941. Kanoya Kokutai, Kyushu,
    Japan. 1537 hrs, weather - slightly hazy.\n\nBecause
you and your crew have adapted well to the Type 1
Rikko, you have been chosen to serve on detachment
with Chitose Ku for a few weeks.\nThey are equipped
with the Type 96, but have been allocated a Type 1
    for reconnaissance purposes.\n\nThe day after
tomorrow you will fly this plane out to them, at Roi
airfield on the Kwajalein Atoll, and instruct their
chosen crews in its use. You have been given a day's
rest tomorrow so you will need to complete all checks
on the aircraft today.\n\nTake it up for a flight
test around the bay to the south of here and make
sure that everything is functioning as it should. If
it isn't then, as soon as you land, make sure that
the maintenance chief knows about it and puts it
right.\n\nThe 3rd Chutai are exercising over the bay
at the moment, you may come across them during your
    flight.\n

    Cheers!

You got the 1st line of the brief, right?
You had hard returns in the text file instead of \n. If you have more than 2(?) returns in the .properties file, it does not show up. Here is a corrected file ... http://jyarbrough.homestead.com/41Nov13.zip
or you can just open your brief in notepad, wordpad, etc and delete the enter commands.

It should look more like this:

    Name 41Nov13

No, that's not it either . I don't see even the first line. The text appeared like that because that's how I copied it from Notepad. I'm afraid that your 'corrected' file still doesn't work.
As a long shot, do you think it could be something to with upgrading from v4.00m to 4.01m?
If I can't fix it I will have to delete and rewrite the props files - pain! New missions that I've written show their briefings just fine.

    Cheers!

Double check and make sure that your .mis name exactly matches your .properties name including caps, etc. Try opening it in the FMB and saving it under a different name too. When I made a new mission with a Betty and saved it with no briefing, I pasted your briefing into the .properties file and that is where I found the part about the returns. It has to do with the names, not the patch.

Oh BTW, is the .properties file really saved as .PROPERTIES? It should be all lower case. That could be it as well.

Turn on wordwrap in notepad. Sometimes notepad adds returns all by itself if wordwrap is off. Wordwrap can be found on the Format menu.
