Hi GL2, I have been reading this thread and it seems very interesting.
At the moment I'm still working my way through my Robert Johnson movie, creating skins and all during about eight-hours per-week that I get at my PC.
It's something that I'd be interested in, but I cannot commit myself to at the moemnt, which is a real shame.
If you don't mind, I'll follow the progress and if I can I'll help,I'll do my best, but again unfortunately I just can't commit myself at the moment, and would not like to be as Anne Robinson would say "the weakest link".
Still, good luck, and I may just be able to get involved later.
Cheers, Neil.
Hi, MP. I knew you were still finishing up the Johnson film, which I'm very much looking forward to seeing. We're still in the early planning stages, as you can see, but it would be great if you could participate in some capacity, even if it's a small one. Same goes for the other veteran filmmakers and community supporters I mentioned. The story has yet to be chosen, so there are no character roles to offer just yet, but I'm glad to hear you're open to the possibility of some sort of role in this project.
Even though there are many people involved, I don't know that the actual production time for the film will be any less than what it is when an individual makes a film alone. Some aspects will clearly take longer than they would if one person were making all the decisions. That means a voice actor (if you're interested in doing that) may not need to get involved for weeks or even months, and the amount of time you'd need to expend could be minimal. It would be nice if the entire film could be completed in a few months, but we'll just have to wait and see how quickly things progress.
First things first, though--we need to pick a story. If you have any ideas floating around your head, please consider submitting them. And if you're in contact with Scragbat, please make him aware of this and let him know we'd love to see him get involved as well. Good luck with your film.![]()
Thrustmaster--Monday I'll PM everyone involved and give everyone my email address. Then we can take the discussion of story ideas 'behind closed doors'.![]()
MP--The Battle of Midway came to my mind, as well. I have one idea I'm working on, but it's not Midway. BTW, people can submit as many ideas as they want. The purpose of this is to get the best idea for our film.
Tooz--Let's not forget the classic, "Ahm given 'er awl she's got, cap'n!"I hope everyone here watched the original Star Trek TV show or people are going to think we're nuts.
Ok, it's Father's Day in the US so got to go do the family thing now.
In a way, and only for disccussion....if you could get 10 movie-makers onboard, and ask them to create their own 2 minutes worth of video from the story, you could effectively end up with 20 minutes of footage, with less burden on each movie-maker.
Then, what you could have is one guy doing all the post production i.e After effects and Magic Bullet, so that there is effectively a 'film grade' through the final footage.
Finally you get one guy to write a musical score and one to do the post production sound effects.
However, I'm sure that's too simple, because there will be things I haven't thought about, but it's just a place to sound-off ideas for consideration.
