Over on SubSim CCIP has released a CommandKeys mod that restores the SH3 keybindings. My main problem is that it moves the avatar movement over to the arrow keys instead of WASD. This is impossible for me to use after decades of WASD. :P

But if you miss the old command keys, by all means try it!

I think the developers were confused that this is a 1940s simulation versus modern instant message/Facebook/ipod version.

What happened to the classic analogue dials and knobs? I also hate how you set the speed of the ship. What happened to 1/3, 2/3, etc. Its like building a WWII flight sim game and using glass cockpits for all of the planes.

Another reason beside the DRM that I am not purchasing this game until some serious mods come around and the DRM is removed.

1/3, 2/3 and all that is still there. Just the interface icon is a 1, 2, 3 instead of letters. Works the same and will be fixed via a UI mod in no time I'm sure.

The issue for me is that such a UI should have never been created since it does not even come close to what you see in the actual sub. I see the gauges inside the sub so the UI should come close to matching it.

I think it is very stupid of the developers to have taken this new direction. Why does everything have to be modded by the customers when the developers don't do enough research?

Yeah good luck trying to control your dept.

The depth control button is totally fubar. It doesn't work half the time.. Then when it does work its pot luck if you get within 20 meters of what you really want for a depth.

Then taking out a needed option like Depth To Keel has me wondering what the silly heck are they thinking?

I know mod adds the Depth Keel key back in... But come on a mod for such a simple and required button.

But now that i get Depth to Keel working... Good luck trying to cange your subs depth without punching your monitor to get the little graph to work!
