Just hate I don't know what killed me....Never seem mines in that area of deep water, maybe a plane got me at 150ft.
With RSRD that area is dangerous late war, seems every convoy has the Type AB escorts. Most have vet or elite crews then. Having 6 of those suckers chasing you throwing 24 charges per run with those 6 Y guns can be a chore. Inside my sub sounds charges sound like machine gun fire, planes everywhere dropping deep charges, mines....but oh I love those large 20-30 ship convoys that come through there then.
Another long time satisfied customer. Installed GWX on SH3 as soon as it came out. Put TMO2 on SH4 as soon as I found it and have recently relented and put RSRD on as well.
As for running 'safely' on the surface at night because they don't fly at night, hmmm, not my experience. The Japanese actually went into the war believing they possessed superior night time vision so would seek out confrontations at night to try to exploit this delusion. I have been harassed on the surface at night almost as much as during the day.
As for being sighted by sampans or fish boats, what is the SOP for dealing with these types? Generally I will waste a few DG rounds to off them, at least later in the war and closer to the home islands. I just recently restarted a new campaign using TMO and RSRD, left Manila to patrol just west of Luzon I encountered a 'convoy' of fish boats, 7 in a row. Now, being still in what I would consider to be semi friendly waters I figured I would give them a pass, sort of, I did pick off one toward the end of the cue, got the message that I had sunk a neutral craft...oops. During this mission Manila was lost so my home port was txed to Soerabaya. While transiting north of Java on my way home after the mission I ran across another Junk convoy, 6 this time. I figure, ok, the IJN has been in the area for 2 weeks now I'll plug one of these guys, and get the same message, neutral. My bad again.
I am running submerged up the Java Strait right now, headed NW evading a TF to the west of me after I sunk one of their heavy cruisers. And just got a sounding of a second TF NE of me, all seemingly heading down to deny me of my present home base.

If you're playing TMO RSRD, this should be your setup.
TriggerMaru_Overhaul_2
TMO_20_Beta_update
RSRDC_TMO_V502
RSRDC_V5xx_Patch1
The TMO Beta update isn't a must, but doe's have many updates that are nice.
As for sinking neutral fishing boats, ect..I've never gotten a message about a neutral, but allied small boats do exist. I would just leave them alone, unless near Japan. They can radio in your position, so be careful.
During late Feb to March the JP's invade Java. Around Feb 28th the large Java Force, over 50 ships, merchants and escorts invade. You can find coming by the small island sort of NNW from Surabaya. Also another invasion force in the harbor right of the Merak label around March 2, not in the Sundra, behind Merak. Also several TF running around the coast. You'll lose Surabaya around Feb 29.

Think about that a moment or two, Foe...
While you are diving faster in TC, the contact is still barreling toward your position. Also in TC. A normal crash dive coupled with a hard turn will keep a plane from ending your trip.
I have done what you describe. TC a dive, only to drop it down in time to see a bomb go off on top of me. TC only makes the game run faster. If something bad is going to happen, like getting bombed, it will. Just alot faster.</div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Cough... some of us don't like sitting there for a minute every time a boat dives... TC makes it dive in 10 seconds. MY TIME. Hence I don't have to sit through the whole dive sequence and listen to it for the 463rd time.
I really hope you don't think I am THAT stupid, thank you very much!
[edit] goes for Wolfe as well
Foe my friend, why all the hating
The way you listed it 2: uping TC so I dive faster, sort of implied that you thought it made you go under faster, without the enemy moving just as fast. Using TC to dive faster is fine, do it all the time, but I don't refer to it as a tactic as it's really just a time saver.
I didn't even read your post, I was responding to Wolferz, but I'm sure that's how he read it.
I would've the same.
So forgive us for the offense...but I blame Wolferz...always putting me in the middle of things, dudes always causing me trouble..![]()
Haha!! Yes I finally figured out how to install mods thanks to Yooper who was very patient and understanding in walking me thru it, and now I am hooked on TMO. I dont plan to go mod crazy now and install every mod out there, but I think eventually I will install 2 or 3 more.Originally posted by denis4510:

Glad to see you have them mate and are enjoying.![]()
You'll still get a few funny things - I had an episode recently when my sonar wouldn't work manually ie with you using the switches - had this once before - have to go back to base to fix it. Wasn't damaged in battle or anything. Another unusual one I had just today. I saved the game last night when I finished - I usually save while the sub is underwater at a safe depth say 150 feet to avoid any unpleasant surprises on reload.
I loaded the game today and got an immediate warning as to damage to the deck gun and paint.
Went back to an earlier save and had the same problem. Had none when I saved and there were no ships near or mines or anything like that. Surfaced and put the repair party to work and it was fixed soon thereafter.
