    Hi guys

I never had any problems with SHIII since I bought it a month or so ago...until today

This is what happened...I was in the middle of a patrol, and then I saved the game to go on a bit later. After I saved the game and selected to quit the game my PC resets itself.I didnt think much of it at the time as I never had problems with the game before. So it didnt bother me that much.

But later the day when I loaded my saved game again my problem started...As the saved game loads and the "initializing" screen fades away to slowly display the dails and inner part of the sub the game becomes very jerky and slow. The only thing that seems to help was when I pressed "p" to dive to periscope depth and waited for like allmost a minute for the sub to eventually go from surface depth to periscope depth.Once the noise of the water dissapears as the sub goes below the surface the game then seems to be fine..even if I surface the sub again its all fine..it only seems to happen if I load my saved game for the 1st time.I did manage to finish that patrol and go on to the next patrol. On the next patrol I tried to see if it would do it again but it didnt.I'm just concerned now that it might happen again as it is very annoying to wait like a minute before the game becomes playable.Have anyone had this problem before?..any suggestions to try and avoid it from happening again?..if it does happen again do anyone know a way to fix it?

Maybe you just needed to restart your computer. Your memory might have been clogged, or sommin was runnin hot because your computer was on all day or somin.
I didnt understand whether you were saying that it was a reoccuring problem or if it only happened once.

It happened to me once. My computer did not shutdown or anything but I saved liked you. When I started the game again, none of my sub would not move until I surfaced and then submerged. Again, it only happend once when I was submerged at a stand still and saved.

Saving while submerged seems to cause a lot or problems. Perhaps they only changed the code to allow you to save while submerged at the last minute. There was a debate about when you should be allowed to save before the game was released.

It's best to only save while submerged, but sometimes real life gets in the way. I try to be fairly strategic about allocating time to play, so I'm not caught having to save while submerged.

Make sure you defrag your pc at least once a week. That might help with the lag. I've had the same problem and once I remembered I hadn't done a defrag for a couple of weeks, the defrag helped a lot.
