I figured out how to always get it to work. You have to lower yourself slowly to the floor...keeping your face in front of the Kinect sensor as it slowly tilts down so that it never "loses" you. If you drop down too fast, it wont track your head down to the floor and then it appears you've stepped out of frame. Did push-ups and crunches today without a problem.

I'll have to give that a try. My sit ups in EASA2 this morning were an exercise in getting up and down from the floor - not much fun, but I guess it burned calories It just so happens I posted a question about this on the EASA forum this morning. Perhaps you could leave a helpful reply there. I know lots of people are reporting trouble with floor exercises there.

I just wanted to add my support to the "In Rhythm" complaint. It really bothers me that I seem to be in perfect sync with the trainer and it still stops giving me credit because it says I'm not in sync. I don't know if the game just isnt' seeing me right, but the trainer says I'm not in sync. Ofcourse I'm looking at the trainer and it sure as hell looks like I'm in sync. Can Ubisoft patch in something that expands the In Sync time frame. I mean give us a few more milli seconds or something.

I agree that this is really a problem. I get so frustrated with the game sometimes that I just shut off the xbox and walk away mid session. If a patch isn't released soon, I think it's time to trade in for an alternative. Good concept, poor execution.

Just taking a break after trying to work out with the Cardio racer program again and want to complain about the sync issue again. Why, well I should complain to someone everytime it makes me mad right? and who better than the developer. So during the Tap side Tap back exercise, it says I'm in sync when moving my leg to the side, but as soon as I'm supposed to move it back, I'm out of sync, so I'm in sync, out of sync, repeat through the whole exercise. Are we ever going to hear about a patch or something, because right now I'm thinking about trading this in, and telling everyone that I originally recommended the game to, that I changed my mind, and they should avoid it.

I have that problem too (some days). Same with several other exercises.

I got EASA2 this morning. Off to give that a try.

I just did my first workout with EASA2. Initial comments:

    Pros:
    - It has warmups and cool down/stretches built into the workout.
    - No Rhythm problems. It sets a pace, but adapts if you are moving a little slower or faster than the trainer.
    - The training session was about the right duration for me and felt like it offered more variety and more of a full body workout than YSFE's Personal Trainer sessions do.
    - The session was customizable (although I didn't choose to customize it other than to configure my weights).
    - I liked the heart rate monitor, it let me know that I wasn't really dying even though I felt like I was.

    Cons
    - it lost recognition 3 times during the workout, which interrupted the flow. Each time I had looked away from the Kinect at the beginning of the exercise, so I think I can avoid this in the future
    - as far as I can tell it only has the workout session -- no games or classes. Nothing like zen or cardio boxing.

    Conclusions:

Initial impression is good. It's maybe too early to tell -- I really liked YSFE at first too, until the lack of accuracy started to become more apparently.

I think I'll use EASA2 for my primary workout and do cardio boxing in YSFE on my off days. I'm not quite ready to give up completely on YSFE yet, hopefully there will be a patch to solve the major problems.

I agree that the game is poor at telling whether the player is in rhythm, at least in certain exercises. It's very discouraging and aggravating when you KNOW you are in rhythm and doing the moves perfectly (I personally am a musician and trust me, I know rhythm).

I know I am a bit late getting in here, but I just wanted to say that I agree with the rythm thing. Also, it won't count it- take squats, for example- if you can't squat low enough. I have some pretty bad issues with my knees and have a hard time getting my thighs to the right angle. I'm not going to push my abilities too far and cause further injury to my knees (not to mention that even if my knees were in better shape, my butt is still too big and if I went as far down as the game wants me to I would fall over :P ). That said, I do what I can and (except for the games section) I don't worry too much about score. I mainly pay attention to calories burned and what the scale tells me.
