I draw your attention to the words "ideally based on the ATI Radeonâ® Xpress 200 chipset", deos this mean there is the possibility of crossfire on other chipset based mobos? Is everything done cardside to the extent that maybe we could run crossfire on an SLI or the non-SLI dfi boards with two pci-e video slots? Okay, rumor mill, GO!
Indeed, ATI is "opening" its Xfire architechture to other chipset manufacturers (Via, SiS, Uli) so they can make Xfire enabled chipsets.

Donâ´t know if Nvidia will get on the deal too though, buy who knows, maybe in the future weâ´ll witness an Xfire enabled Nforce mobo .

As for which component does the Xfire thingy, both do, the Xfire mobo and the Xfire Master vid card.

So far, it looks like ATI will keep to themselves the right to manufacture the Xfire Master cards, but maybe theyâ´ll license the tech to other card OEMS.

Why the need for the Xfire Master card? because these cards come with a unique "compositing" chip that does the Xfire magic by combining the output of both GPUs and rendering the resulting frames.

Best thing about Xfire? it wonâ´t be game-limited, meaning you could use it with any game, be it new or old, unlike SLI which requires a profile for every game you want to use it with, so if Nvidia decides a game is not worthy of having a profile, youâ´re out of luck

Some more food for the rumor mill: The Inquirer says a single R520 card will equal or best 2 Geforce 6800Ultras in SLI mode, thanx mainly to its 24 to 32 pipeline design.

I would SOOOO love to have a DFI Lanparty NF4 Crossfire DR mobo, but I don't see it happening.

The PCIe segment is expected to account for half of graphics-card shipments by the end of this year, though the AGP8X segment should continue to dominate the entry-level segment through the middle of 2006, according to the makers.

    Hello all

I am planning to buy myself a new rig. I want to get a AMD64 FX57 using OS MS XP64 Professional.

As I am not very well informed technically I would like to ask if IL2/FB/AEP/PF runs with this setup. I have seen a post confirming this but I am still a little bit wary.

I dont want to spend $4000+ and find out nothing is running properly.

Is anybody using this or a similar combo who can share his experiences (maybe also with other 32bit games?)

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I know you shouldn't have a problem running games on the winXP x64, but there is very limited driver support for x64 so yo may have trouble there. Maybe someone running it will have a comment.

    S~! Gentlemen

I have decided to submit this thread regarding the Kingwin Arctic WaterCooler. It has been a great, efficient and inexpensive water cooling system. I hope it helps out others who may be considering water cooling as an option. Good Luck.

The first production board based on the new ATI chipset (the same one that will be used for crossfire) reviewed. This thing ROCKS!
