I'm going to jump in here and share a bit of explanation why the Ghosts look like the way they do now. Whether you agree with it or not, please understand that this is the team's effort to make a Ghost look like a Ghost.
Why no camo and standard uni? Like having a weapon customized to individual specifications, a Special Forces person should be able to wear the outfit that he feels is best suited to the mission as well as his individual...for lack of a better word, style. I don't mean fashion style, but for example the standard uni were a dress, I'd be perfectly fine in it but you'd be awful in it, right?
Additionally, having non-standard outfits helps to break up the silhouette.
Hope this helps you understand why they look the way they do now.![]()
LOL yeah. The flag goes on the right shoulder, then again they're not really wearing uniforms so I guess it could technically still be correct. They're SF so they could pretty much do what they wanted. At least you guys didn't do what Infinity Ward did with the Rangers and put American flags on BOTH shoulders.Originally posted by kimi_:
Oh god...it's supposed to always be on right shoulder?![]()
I get teh above, but Kimi could you have Ubi's art team lower their sleeves for both SP and MP. When using active camo, they should be covered completely in that active camo gear, right? Otherwise their bare arms should remain bare AND VISIBLE since it doesn't have any tech clothing covering/cloaking it.Originally posted by kimi_:

Details, it's all about details.
Fair enough. No real need to look uniform in a military wargame anyway. *Sigh* Whatever.Originally posted by kimi_:

I still think they look like pirates or mercs, but that is probably intentional. Wouldn't want guys who are supposed to invisible to not blend in, now would we? Not like the multi-million dollar gear wouldn't be a dead giveaway.
Ok, serious question: If these guys appeared out of nowhere and claimed to be US Special Forces, would YOU believe them? Personally, I am not sure I WOULD believe them. ANYONE can put a patch on the wrong shoulder (LOL Dan! Glad SOMEONE else caught that. But I wasn't going to say, I get enough flack as it is for dissing the Ubi gods.)
Maybe I am just dense, but I sort of expect US soldiers on a mission to LOOK like US soldiers. Not ragbags.
i'm sorry but i have to say your excuse for the lack of camouflage of any kind extremely misguided. like every thing else they have done your 'team' has failed to make ghosts look like ghosts... what you have there is a team of obsessively advanced mercenaries.Originally posted by kimi_:

there are over 15 countries that use a licenced copy of British disruptive pattern material. several openly sell their knock-offs to extremist and paramilitary groups.
surplus German Flectarn is very popular amongst the Taliban traveling between pakistan and Afganistan.
thats just 2 examples of where camouflage is used in some kind by para-military groups... looking at what little you give us, thats what we will fighting correct? gone are days of fighting a dedicated military opponent on a military game. your 'new' men look more out of place than the mexicans on GRAW2
and whats with your obsession with baraclavas?! they look abismal
on the flag note as they are operating out of US jurisdiction really shouldn't there be no flag what so ever? just a black velcro spot the the flag should be... a black and white stars and strips would still mark this team as americans as much as a black and white union jack would point out british special forces
Realism is taking a back seat here. Fun is the main aim of the game designers now. If we can accept this then we might find the game fun. For those who can't then I think you will end up being very disappointed with the final product.
If they have a magical cloak you think they are gona care if the sleeves are short. I mean even if they have full sleeves, the faces aren't covered. It's just a silly gameplay feature that was included to make the game look cool.
Accept that realism isn't a consideration. This game is designed to sell as many copies as possible. It might be fun in the end but it won't be a game that compares to the original games.
True.
Ah well. Maybe it WILL be fun. After all, fun is running around shooting things. Everything else is just stupid. Things like, thinking, planning, preparing ambushes, all that. Sci-fi games usually are fun in SOME way after all, even if it IS just for ****s and giggles.
I am still not going to pay full price for this.
