Hi Coastie,
The card I have in now is PCIe, here is the card I have now, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...Item=N82E16814150247
Are you seeing something I'm missing something with the AGP. Like I said, I'm dangerous...
)

Sorry, it looks like I was wrong. I saw the "AGP Status: Enabled" line at the bottom of your dxdiag and assumed it was agp. But I just checked my dxdiag and it says the same thing and I am running a PCIe 5770. I also saw that you have the AMD 4600+ which made me think you would have agp.
Sorry for the confusion. I did a search and it looks like Nvidia never even made an agp 8600GT.
PS are you in Va. Just looking at your name. I am in Portsmouth, Va.

Hi urufu,
Could you have a look at this card? Is this the exact same card as you found on New Egg? http://www.buy.com/prod/evga-0...c/101/217104204.html
There is a slight difference in the model number?.? EVGA 01G-P3-1371-TR versus EVGA 01G-P3-1370-TR I don't want to make a mistake.
Very good price. The mail in $30.00 visa card will help get started on the power supply

Those cards are the same under the hood, but if you look closely they have different coolers attached.

I discovered another difference, the 01G-P3-1371-AR has a lifetime warranty, the 1370 has a 2yr warranty.

Same card, different cooler and warranty then. In your opinion is it worth the $30 + to go with the New Egg card?
Thanks for digging into that. I had a hard time seeing the difference. Never would have looked at the cooler or warranty. I did notice the 2 year and thought that was strange for the EVGA cards.

Hi Urufu,
I looked back at the New Egg card. It says 2 year limited warranty. Not sure where you saw the Lifetime??
Just wondering about your opinion on which card you would go with. I'm hoping to get one of the two ordered this week.

Geeze found all this at EVGA website. Not sure what to make of it. Sounds like to me the lesser priced card is better??
The only game I run is IL2. So it's not like I'm going to be pushing the card at all. I think I should just save myself the $30 and stop "nerding out" ?
Compare them here,

First, let me commend you on being the good detective and looking for the differences to make your decision on.
The two cards vary on how they cool the gpu as you noted.
Model #1370 ( http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/01G-P3-1370.pdf ) places a normal fan in the center and it blows air through the vents in all directions.
Model #1371 ( http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/01G-P3-1371.pdf ) external exhaust shroud seals the edges and puts a fan at the end of the card. This intake directs air along the full length of the card and then out the rear grille.
Also, I noticed you have 3GB RAM and thought that was an odd combination. If you have more memory installed, you may consider an OS upgrade from XP to Win 7 64-bi that can use that extra RAM.

Thanks Steve!
But which card would be best? Is one worth the extra $$ or not? I'm not sharp enough to know if one is better or not.
Or even what about the GTS 450? http://www.buy.com/prod/evga-0...c/101/217185483.html
As I understand this card is barely going to have to work to run IL2. I have no intention on ever playing an other games. By the time anything changes with IL2 I'll probably need a bigger card anyway!
