It might be nVidia settings, or the monitor's adaptive contrast. I don't think you should change from DVI to VGA. That would mean some image quality loss.

Ok, I found out what was causing the blue glow. The monitor has a function to adjust response time. When I set it to fastest then I get a blue glow around objects that are moving fast. If i back it up one then the blue glow is gone.

Now, this is my last question for this thread. I've been searching around and i cant seem to find any answers. When my frame rates are high. 60 FPS and not wavering. Why do fast moving objects...say an enemy aircraft moving left to right look like it's micro stuttering?,. it's not really a blur,,,,but it looks like its on a tractor motion or something. But the frame rate are high so I dont' feel its a graphcs card setting..... I dont recall seeing this issue before the new monitor.

One of the biggest differences I felt i had with the new card was a realistic movement....now that seems to be gone. I think its due to the microstutter I'm trying to describe.

You probably have VSync on in nV Control Center.
This setting is used by the card for CRT monitors, to write new information into the video buffer memory during the time the CRT's electron beam "flies" back across the screen to it's start position.

Try setting triple buffer to on. with VSync on, or turn VSync off completely. LCD monitors do not need VSync really. (TrackIr does IIRC).
Both methods will increase FPS and fast moving objects should show better.
VSync imposes a max FPS of 60, and when objects move fast you might get sort-of a stroboscope effect.

    Thanks Max,
I've been a little under the weather here so I've not been doing much.

I have tried the Vsync both ways. Triple Buffering is on when I've had it on. I don't notice a big difference either way. I'll look at it a little closer tonite.

I can see a very noticable difference when I adjust the response time on the monitor. Sitting still with it on Normal the track ir is very blurry moving and even stuttery. I've i move it up one notch then it's noticably better, one more notch is equally better. However then I get the blue glow. I may call Samsung today. Maybe by chance I got a bad monitor.

Well, the PC upgrade is now complete! I just hope it's enough to run Cliffs of Dover! I didn't realize it was coming out so fast. According to the system requirements posted I should be ok. I just hope I'm better than ok. I finally stepped up to running IL2 the way it should be run. I hate to go backwards with COD!

Bottom line on the monitor is I don't think there is a problem. I need to work out some adjustments on it. The presets aren't great. My problem is I can tell what doesn't look good. I just can't figure out what it takes to make it look good.

SO thanks to everyone here. Wrapping up the thread, I LOVE the EVGA GTX460. My Samsung P2450H...is ok I would recommend something different if someone would ask but I'm not dissatisfied enough to send it back.

    So thanks again everyone.

Any of you monitor guys have tricks to adjusting the color? I'm having some trouble getting good color. I know what looks good (when it looks good) and I know what looks bad.......I just don't know how to get from bad to good.

For Monitor calibration and Gamma adjustment
try this site (there are others too, just google monitor calibration or gamma adjustment. Make sure your PC and monitor have been switched on for minimally 15 min, so they don't start "cold"

If you have graphics software installed, you might find this has calibration sections too.

The video driver has settings for color adjustment and Brightness, Contrast, Saturation etc. There might be Monitor profiles on the net too for your monitor (ICC profiles)
