I understand this form may be closed but i'm trying to help both myself and my mom get settlers to work on our computers, however neither of us can get it to work.
Our errors have nothing to do with hosting(we can't even get the game to run!)
When we start the game up we get the main menu, we select single player and do a map with whatever specs we want. When we press OK to star the game, we get the load window and then an error message pops up that says:
Structured Exception c0000005 occurred at 0x005FC60C. Read from ad0888d5 failed.
If you have aaaaany idea what that means or how i can fix it i would be very thankful. If not, mom and i either have to live without settlers, or whip out our old towers. (which is difficult because we both have laptops)

Hey thare!
I've recently bought Settlers 3 gold edition in a fit of nostalgia.got it home, put the cd in the drive and clicked install
and then I got a "language somethinh something cannot be found" error message
btw. I run windows 7
that kinda sucks when you've got baaad cravings for an awesome game
I've tried looking in the thread but nothing really seems to solve this problem..
I remember having solved it before, only to run into another problem when I tried actually playing a custom game (or mission) even though the game was patched and all that stuff..
Please get me to closer to playing that swe-tastic game! *puppy eyes*

I am having problems too.
Not to get the game to run but for the multiplayer part. Me and my girlfriend play multiplayer over lan.
Mostly with about 8-10 pc against us :-)
but since we turn the way of player with 10 or 12 pc the game stops and hangs after an hour. But also on other times. The game lags partly all the way trough. But after we started playing with 10 pc's and up the game just stops after some time.
our net is fine and every thing else work. The small flags on the buildings and the piggies is also moving so the game is live. But our troops and people just stops moving. Is there anyone who knows about this and to solve it ?

Hey all i've fully installed Settlers 3 gold edition onto my laptop running Windows 7, i've downloaded the patch and clicked to run it but everytime its told me firstly that the Settlers 3 Mission pack is missing some files which are to be installed and then "Your settlers III instillation is corrupt please reinstall but i've reinstalled a good dozen times now and no luck, have i missed a vital stage?

i found a issue with installing settlers 3 on windows 7(error 105) and that is put compatibility on S3\INSTALL\setup.exe (in cd2) to "windows 98/windows me" then run it directly to solve the issue! and you should install the game with ease!
remember to patch it up with the latest patch aswell!
hope this helps anyone
and if anyone experience regsetup crash errors, run the game with administrator sometimes solves the issue

I can't seem to get settlers 3 to work on windows 7. I tried the patch on the previous pages and had no luck. I installed the game then used the patch, the game runs but when the game starts I get a appcrash error and it goes back to the desktop....help!!! I have the mission cd and the amazons bt haven't tried them yet.

I have had settlers 3 for a long time, but now on my new computer with windows vista it just stops working when ever i try to play it.
I tried using IanHarris' patch but when i ran the patch it says it is was unable to find siedler3_00.f8007e01f. and nothing happened i'm still unable to play.

I just got my settlers 3 to work on windows 7 last night using this link to pennys help

hope this helps. Only other advice is once it is installed, make sure you right click on the exe and all the permissions are set to admin.
