Since were are talking about old classics.
I just found D.I's sim Hind is available as Abandonware! I've been wanting to play this game for years but never got around to it.

I still have the original somewhere.

This game was one of my great loves, together with TORNADO.

Both by the same company they combined cutting edge sim technology with a great campaign engine. Actually I never found a subsequent sim which offered such a good campaign planning engine as Tornado. It was easy to ue, yet powerful enough to plan complicated strike missions, coordinating several strike packages to come in at the same time etc etc etc.

Old games can still teach us something. Personally I'd advice any flightsim developer to boot Tornado! and look at this feature.

Hind used the same planning tool, but a little less potential version.

How I loved to hunt Muhajedeen rebels in the mountains!

I was playing Hind all the time until I got a new PC to replace my stoneage rig.

Anyway the other week I though it would be great to fire it up again but it seemed awful after moving into the world of IL2.

From favourite game to unplayable in a few months.
