I use Windows Movie Maker to compress the movies. ha. Just import the movie and save it as the default quality and you have your movie and at a much smaller size. The quality is not reduced that much at all. You should give it a try.

If you want to make movies, you need to edit the raw video you get with Fraps. The movies you take with Fraps is quite large as you found out but with editing, you can make it much smaller. My Bomber Attack Over Leningrad was made with Fraps and Uleads VideoStudio7. That was my first movie.
@Frederf220, the replay recorder in MSFS isn't bad and is similar to what is in Ghost Recon, but only records the events of your AC, if you notice, there are no AI aircraft in the air or on the ground. With GR, it records all events including AI. The best replay suite any game has is Papyrus' NASCAR Racing Series. You can control which cameras you view from, which car and speeds both forward and backwards. You could run your race, save the replay then go back and record the replay with Fraps. the one thing, no free camera to view close up action around the cars itself from an angle other than what is already included.
