Ok so its probably a little way off but already folk have managed to interface the 'Nunchuck' and 'Wiimote' from nintendo's latest console with various pc based games and applications.

Soo any one up for the challenge ?

Any bets on how long before our old traditional sticks and pits get the Wii treatment ?

Some links that may interest or at best amuse and offend.

Just a scary form of track ir?

    Half life interface

    Desktop application

Nintendo may find they sell more wiimotes than wii's at this rate

    Saitek, you watching this?

I think that I will join you, the straps on the Wiimote are way too flimsy .
I was playing Wii tennis doubles at a mates house a few months ago and as it was a Saturday we were all a bit merry. It was all going great until the controller slipped out of my hands (I had been holding it for dear life), the crappy cord snapped and it smashed into the wall. luckily the controller didn't suffer any damage apart from the cord but if I had been serving when the cord broke then it would have been "goodnight Vienna" for my mate's 32" LCD TV. The force that it hit the wall at would have been enough to make the controller smash straight through the telly, and it was lucky that one of my other mates was stood about an inch further back otherwise he would have got clobbered by it.
I've given those things a very wide berth after that little incident.

Hmm Its more the technology that makes the 'wiimote' do what it does that I find interesting in terms of interfaceing with pc's. But it does seem better suited to the Fps Rts brigade than the 'Stick in the mud' sim crew

You could always dismantle the 'wiimote' (employing a back hand smash if you wish ) and then construct your own chassis/ stick / whatever to house the innards of the thing?

People on this forum have done some pretty funkey stick and pit mods over the years and this just seemed to open up a few more possibilities.

    Food for thought.

Heres a thought you could, I guess, dismantle the thing and reconstruct it inside an RC Aircraft then link it to il2 record a track of your flight in a kind of 'blackbox' set up?

Seems this is what the devolpers are doing while making these gagdets!
