Very good to note that people have encountered Polish ships in SH3 - all goes to show how historically accurate the Devs (or modders) have made the game. Also worth noting that on my first patrol I met, and sunk, the Canadian C/D Class destroyer Fraser on 13 Sept 1939. (Though the Canadians, at that time, flew the same ensign as the Royal Navy).

Just as an extra note to the last posting, here's a sailing ship (as they seem popular).... It's the Picton Castle, paying a visit to Kingston, Ontario, last summer - a few weeks later they lost a crew member overboard in the Atlantic off Maine.
Then, just to show the Ensign on a Canadian ship (and the 'camouflage'), here's HMCS Sackville, Flower Class corvette, at Halifax.
And a last one of the drydock across the road from my apartment, where several Flower Class corvettes were built during the war...

You Poles are right to be proud to be Polish. Polish sailors are good. Polish airmen are brilliant. Polish soldiers are excellent...Polish cavalry are the best!

I feel I should be proud but first of all I have to pass on all of positive historical info to my son /as my uncle fought at Monte Cassino and told me so many interesting war stories/.

Poland's disadvantage in history (apart from being stuck between Germany and Russia) is a lack of natural borders, like mountains, which would slow down an invader or even make him think twice about attacking. Poles are brilliant soldiers when themselves attacking, but not so good in defence. Those famous 'winged hussars' in my picture destroyed the Turks besieging Vienna in 1683 - when the Poles saved Europe! We also forget that Poland defeated the Russians in the 1920s. It's a bit of a myth about the cavalry charging tanks in 1939 - the problem was that there was no chance of a defence in depth. as we all know, those Poles who escaped the defeat of their own forces at home went on to fight as some of the finest Allied troops, airmen and sailors, mainly with the British. I have had the honour to meet some of those men, including people who were with the Anders Army.
