...in the completely revealed map you are shown a number of clues leading you to the spot.in one case, the spot was on a road(which by itself would not be helpful),but in the top of the picture you notice that there is is an intercection "Y" heading s/e from the road you need.then you also see a large bush or tree directly adjacent to the spot.so you look on the map for those three landmarks and it should be clear where you need to dig.my only gripe is that i had to dig 8-10 holes within a 1/2 inch area before it would give itself up.i feel a little leeway within that location would be fair...Originally posted by Hodge_Podge:
Does anyone else find the revealed Puzzle Map annoying, irritating & just downright frustrating? After spending hours locating every Obelisk, I am "rewarded" with an obscure picture in dark blue and almost no defining features to indicate where the Tear of Asha is buried.
Even Heroes II & III had much better Puzzle Maps. Heroes IV was the best (when the "X" showed up). It shows exactly where and in what state the area is in where the Grail is buried, at the current time.
The Puzzle Map in Heroes V isn't very clear. Sometimes it doesn't reveal enough of the terrain to be of any help at all. You'd think that with all the graphical features Nival put into this game, they would have been able to create a better Puzzle Map!
i dont understand why people have such problems with puzzle map, most time i find the tear long before i finish the map....
they is simple method of elimiation, roads is first thing to look for, look at the shape, road, the direction and any junctions, compare that shape against the mini map...
make sure your camera is facing north when looking, then compare shape of moutains and tres, if any building there even bigger bonus.
you not looking for exact, camera angle tend to be steeper in the map, but it dont take much detail to get close
once your close you can feel thr rest of the wait by the on screen comments
I have yet to have a problem finding the exact spot of the Grail, but I personally would like to see a little more detail when it's fully revealed. I mean, when you look at it and then look at the actual map, there are some landscape features that are missing on the Puzzle Map. Makes it a little confusing and frankly it should reveal exactly what is on the map so you don't have to go back and forth between the two 10 times just to make sure you're exactly on the spot you need to be.
I like how vague the puzzle map is now. I have always thought of it as something similiar to a old fashion treasure map. I would try to find unique features on the puzzle map and then try to line them up with the real map i've explored to see if I could find the location.
I think it could even be harder; just a set of directions instead of map.
Like; "find the old mill, take a days ride north till you get to the lake...."
So it would really be a quest to uncover the loaction of the most powerful artifact on the map.
