I am having a problem with the PC-version of POP. The game switches to 24hz mode and everything stutters like crazy. I have chosen 60hz as refresh rate but it always changes to 24hz when I start the game. Is there an option to specify refresh rate in the game? Right now it is completely unplayable. I have a Geforce 8800 GTS running 1920*1080 on my TV

I tried to force the refresh rate with the utility that comes with Riva Tuner, but it only makes the game lock up instead

    Same problem here....

    With 1920x1080 i get 24Hz
    When i chose 1280x720 i get 50Hz

I want it to run at 60Hz! Especially the 1080p resolution since it stutters badly @ 24Hz.

    This is my config:

    C2D 6420 @ 3.2Ghz
    ATI Sapphire HD4850 512Mb with catalyst 8.12
    Auzentech X-Fi Prelude
    Windows Vista x64 SP1
    Samsung LE37M87BD HDTV monitor

Same problem here! Playing on 1920 x 1080 sets me back to 24 frames. It's locked at that resolution. I'm on a 4870X2. Does anyone know how to play it at 60hz?

What monitor are you all using?

Sorry, forgot to add that to my config.

    I'm using a 37" HDTV as monitor.
    Its a Samsung LE37M87BD.

I noticed something else that's kinda weird:
When i chose another resolution like 1650x1050 my screen info tells me im in 1920x1080 @60Hz ???

Only the "HD" resolutions that give 720p or 1080p seem to make the game run at a specific Hz

Ok, here's some more information. I didnt test all resoultions yet, but obviously there is a big problem.

    1920x1080 gives me 1920x1080 @ 24Hz - image takes entire screen
1776x1000 gives me 1920x1080i @ 50Hz - image does not take entire screen; black frame around image
1650x1050 gives me 1920x1080 @ 60Hz - image does not take entire screen; black frame around image
1400x900 gives me 1920x1080 @ 60Hz - image does not take entire screen; black frame around image
1360x768 gives me 1920x1080 @ 60Hz - image does not take entire screen; black frame around image but smaller border then 1400x900??
1280x720 gives me 1280x720 @ 50Hz - image does not take entire screen; black frame around image
1280x768 gives me 1280x1024 @ 60Hz - image does not take entire screen; black lines on top and bottom

unfortunately renaming the excutable results in no change to how it may be detected...

IF ubisoft presented the option to allow a manual forceing of frequency... it may solve the problem.. such as allowing one to add the command line parameter : "-hz 60" would resolve the problem.

Additionally, allowing a more detailed selection of resolutions to including frequency would also resolve the problems we are having:

In the resolution selection list, add the resolutions of different frequencies as well, in which case multiple 1920x1080's would show up like this:

    1920x1080 @ 24hz
    1920x1080 @ 30hz
    1920x1080 @ 60hz
    1360x768 @ 24hz
    1360x768 @ 30hz
    1360x768 @ 60hz

    and so forth.
