Hi guys, I have the IL-2 1946 4.08, but my friends are all playing in ALL AIRCRAFT ARCADE Server, which is 4.04, so I wonder if there is any way that I could play on it, like a little program that I download which converts it to 4.04 and to 4.08 back again when I need to...

Please help me! I am desperate!!!

There is a version switcher... cant remember where i saw that.

I think if you use FILES.SFS and il2fb.exe from 404m you should be fine. Unless i am missing something.

I have this link, but not sure if it is still good. I'm at work and its blocked.

But if it is not good anymore look at www.simulation-france-magazine.com and search for it. I can't imagine them taking it down.

    Thanks JG52Uther

I was just over at SimHq and noticed a sticky on said subject. A good fellow named Cdr84
has made a complete switcher for several versions, to use with 1946. Several guys have it mirrod in the thread.

The switcher is cool, but since 1946 installs into it's own directory, I just change the HyperLobby filepath back and forth to the wanted .exe as needed. Saves HDD space and for me, is just as easy. Not discounting it's usefulness, just sharing what I do is all.

Yeh me too SlickStick I have two seperate Installs. But have considered merging my stuff and putting in the switcher.

It would be alot less drive space usage if I got rid of the 4 gigs of 4.04 and just ran with the 1946 and the 118meg swithcer.

That's a good point. I forgot that you could completely remove all of V4.04 and just add the needed files to the existing 1946 folder. Hmmm, that would save more HDD space now wouldn't it?

I can't even remember the last time I flew V4.04m either though. Maybe it's time to get rid of it altogether and install the switcher later. Good idea, thanks.
