Hey, no problem, Tambor. I have no problem with helping someone on dial-up, I simply do not wish to mess up support for the SubSim site by releasing the game ahead of the initial one week period. In other words, giving someone a disc this week without them supporting the cause. All I am trying to do is stay with the cause as the Grey Wolves team has done.
P.S. I just finished downloading it. I used the MD5 program to verify the download as true and complete. Now, all I have to do is burn it to disc and install it. But before then, I have to finish the job of reformatting and reinstalling my gaming computer. Should be good to go by sometime tomorrow, provided I encounter no hitches.

Understood.
I'll hold off on sending any disks for a short while, until the donation week is over (which is when).![]()
I also got two emails. The first came yesterday telling me that they were about to release. The second came this morning, informing me that I was good to go. Once you do get the go signal, you should be alright. I managed to download all the files and then used the MD5 comparison tool available from JoneSoft to verify the files. The first is a small executable of less than 1 meg, then 6 files at 300 megs each and the final file is about 15 megs, so a total download of just over 1.2 gigs. Alright if you have broadband, but it would be a killer on dial-up.

Please don't let me dictate what others should do. I am letting my conscience be my guide. I am personally planning to share the game with others, but not in such a manner as to shortchange SubSim during the fundraising week. Besides, it does take time for the mail to get through. What I am planning to do is suggest to any whom I share the disc with to make a donation to the cause. I am in no way going to accept payment for the disc, other than perhaps my postage costs. Taking money for the disc would be so wrong. The modders are not getting paid for their work, so why should someone else for distributing the discs, other than their postage costs?

Agree with you 100%, K61. I have no intention of asking anymore than postage for sending someone copy of GWX. I always have respected the modders of GWX have done and would seek to help Neal Stevens out if for no other reason then he is a such a class act.
Burn & Share. Can have afrom me. I feel sorry for people limited to dialup.
I would also like to assure everyone waiting in the queue for GWX 2.0, your turn will come.
Neal has approx 400+ people on his list for a donation download and he is also housing the files for us at the same time. He is currently staggering the notifications & downloads so as to not crash Subsim (you may have realised, it's a little laggy at the moment).
Big thanks to Neal for supplying his bandwidth & time.
