Read any of the many tutorials I and others have written. I've got about a dozen step by step instructional posts for installing a variety of mods. If you have questions, just ask them.Originally posted by arcticspyder:

You're going to have to lower your expectations I guess. Nothing comes out fully working anymore. That's just how the gaming industry works. If you don't like that, don't buy games or wait for a patch or a mod to fix whatever problems made it through.(B) expect the people that made the game and made money from the game [ME again]to actually sell a properly working game or
You can play the game. 1.2 patch makes it playable, mods even more so.(C) want to be able to play what we PAID FOR [ME AGAIN]? Are we expected to simply write of the $60 we spent. Is it acceptable that UBI ignores the problems?
It's not acceptable that Ubisoft have apparently abandoned SH5 and hasn't said a damn thing since the game came out, but that's just the way it is. But at this point, the stock game is playable, just not perfect.
Then you probably don't understand the kind of game Silent Hunter is. This game, and other simulators like it such as ArmA2, are designed to be modded. The stock game and stock campaign are never the focus of the game. The modability is. Players are given the tools to make the game into what they want. It's more of a "gaming toolkit" then a "game".I didn't buy this game so that I could MOD the h#ll out of it. I bought this game because I liked the SH series, I bought this game so that I could play it. As it currently is that is IMPOSSIBLE.
You can play the game, but to get the most out of it you need to mod it. The point of this isn't that you have to mod it, it's that you can mod it.
TheDarkWraith has already expanded the game with the addition of things like an external Journal you can write to from within game and read out of game, a fully configurable and adjustable UI which can emulate SH3, SH4 and SH5 styles, radio contact information with far more info then normally given, expanded and improved functionality for many built in features. Mods improve the game way more than stock could have ever been. That's how these games work.
No, we cannot. One has to arrange the private settings in facebook so that a photo album is visible to either:Originally posted by Carotio:

a) everybody
b) friends of friends
c) friends only
d) some specified friends only.
I think the default is friends of friends.
And do you really want to share all photo albums with every John Doe in the world? Most people wouldn't, but still do, cause they haven't investigated the facebook security settings.
Personally, I have most of my albums set for the last d option. Then some for c or b depending what kind of photos they are. And a few albums of photos which I share allready on my public photo site, then why not have those open for the a option too...
If you want to share just one or two photos with us and your peeping neighbour, then better upload to Photobucket those decent shots of you sipping a piñada colada at the swimming pool with a Spanish hunk at your side, while he rubs in your skin with sun lotion. You know, that kind of decent shots.</div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I am familiar with the security settings on FB hence I laughed when saying you wouldn’t be able to see them; sorry if the joke was lost.
I can’t provide any pics of me sipping cocktails by the pool being rubbed up by a hunk either as I went to Amsterdam so there was no pool, or cocktails just copious amounts of sambuca lol
Anyway I had better not continue to assist in derailing this thread![]()
That's okay. In case anyone had forgotten to check their facebook settings, then they could go do it. After all, SH5 has a facebook page too. And some members here may have come here that way through.Originally posted by ms-kleaneasy:

Amsterdam, ehh, maybe no pools, but they always have the canals...
Okay, back to topic. I guess this feedback thread is established in the first place to gather info for a third patch?
I have said it before and I say it again: I (and thousands other players) would surely like to see the war completed, not just campaign wise (that can be modded), but technology-wise like schnorkel, different radar and anti-radar devices etc etc from 1943-1945.
Secondly, but it would be acceptable in an add on too, the other uboat types: IX, II and XXI in that order.
Unless it's said over and over, nothing happens. At least, that's my theory.![]()
In that regard, I still haven't bought the game yet. I settle for SH3 & SH4+add on till then. So if Ubisoft wants my money and my recommendation of SH5, they better invest some more time for the developpers.
The best advertisement any software company can get, is the mouth to ear advertisement between users and potential users. So make a good start, and the game will sell itself.
Nice and well said. SH3 and SH4 were playable out of the box AND patched. Well-playable? NO, but playable. After several years of modding for both games, they are now, much more enjoyable, and with several choices of supermods plus minor tweak mods, any player can customize their game. In that regard, the Silent Hunter serie is well designed.Originally posted by Eoweth:

What still needs to be corrected:
1. The Deck Officer still doesn't know if the gun is manned or not. If I man the deck gun by aiming and selecting a target by using the binoculars I need to talk twice to the officer to get the deck gun cleared.
2. Pressing F5 or F6 to man the gun's sometimes work, sometimes not.
3. Enemy planes do still not attack
4. Air pressure sound while changing depth.
Changing the depth after the initial dive is not done by using air. These were (and still are) hydro-dynamic processes (driving forward and setting the rudders). There might be the need for adjustments in the tanks but the sound in the game implies that changing the depth is done by using or releasing air pressure from them.
5. Sometimes I can't speak to the Torpedo Officer

Eoweth, Ok again you missed my point, while there are plenty of MODS out there I SHOULDN'T have to MOD a game that I paid $60.00 for to make it playable. As for it being playable after the 1.2 patch, sure if you want to look past the OBVIOUS PROBLEMS, it crashes horribly especially in the Med. campaign, there are still men on deck as the sub dives, the stadimeter doesn't work, the TDC, etc..
You said, "that I must not understand the type of game SH is..." You didn't read my post, I have played every SH game to date. Never modded SH4 and it to date is still one of my favorite games.
Played ARMA and still play ARMA 2 with no mods. EJOY/ED them both.
I do expect the game/products that I buy to be WORKING when I buy them and NO I don't expect others to fix what I buy, I expect the manufacturer to sell a working product and then to STAND BEHIND that product once it is sold. Companies like UBI wouldn't produce and relese games that are as bad as SH5 if people weren't willing to accept POOR QUALITY work with the expectations that someone else will eventually come along and fix their mistakes. If every person that purchased this game and was disappointed in it refused to accept anymore incomplete games then UBI would be forced to either make a QUALITY PRODUCT or they would go out of business. Afterall, where is the incentive to produce quality when you know someone else is just going to fix your MISTAKES? According to you not only is that acceptable but it is expected and it is OK! As an end user I say IT ISN'T!
I own and run a busines (albeit a small one) however if I made a mistake and I told my customers, "That's ok, it doesn't matter someone else, not sure who but someone else, will fix it." I would be out of business tomorrow. Customer service MUST be first and foremost to ANY company, wihout it you lose business.
Do you not see, that when people accept and expect failure that is what they will get. It's like Toyota and their brakes, would it be acceptable if their response was, "It's ok that people are crashing all the time, someone else will figure it out." NO it is not ok, however that is exactly what they are saying at UBI and exactly what you and others are saying here.
MODS may very well turn this game into the "BEST GAME EVER" (I seriously doubt it) but it is up to UBI to make this game playable and to fix the things they KNOW are blatantly wrong with it, not you, not me and not the modders, UBI has an obligation and a DUTY to its customers.
Apply your same thinking to BP and then see if you really find it ACCEPTABLE. I DON'T!
Can I just take a second to remind people of the purpose of this thread?
It's to supply feedback on the latest patch..
If you have problems with the game as a whole, can I suggest you make a new thread so that those concerns can be debated in a civil and constructive manner?
The feed back from this thread, regarding the patch issues, has been forwarded on, so hopefully the Developers can see the issues that are still currently outstanding, and they can take it from there.
Every time I enter the game it has message "save game are synchronize from server"Originally posted by Kova1:
Hi, im not 100% sure if this issue was supposed to be resolved in the 1.2 patch however i have tried two campaigns and on both of them i have gotten to the meditteranian theatre and my saved games crash to the desktop when i load them. Is there a way to resolve this?

Hi,
For me it's very important that the next patch include :
- a warning message from sonarman when depth charges are launch by dd (like in SH3),
- light flicking when depth charges explode near submarine (like in sh3).
These implements are essential for the gameplay.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Jean
