First of all thanks for the patch- '' i understand it takes a lot of time and effort/ but- some problems or things should be fixed or added.
bugs: when i face task force or - convoy - it does auto-save and when i reload it from auto-save weather changes- it was foggy and kinda normal- wind was not too strong(estimated on waves) before i reload auto-save. then **** happens when reload it it gets worse- clear but windy- strong.- waves- i mean bad weather- what happens that you guys mentioning about weather related-bugs. and when i move to external view camera- sound of the engine or hydrophone sounds(ship's engine contact sound) remain with display- or when captain is on the bridge- u-boats engine sound remains silent// but kind of f-ing bugs are they? really annoying... generally it has a lot of minor problems that should be fixed... (in some ways this game worse than SH3), and i do not really like watchofficer- issue- where is commands that was in SH3? "fire at will" long range, medium range ETC....... we need that- otherwise every time we encounter ships- i cant go down to deck gun - to help gunners... oh yeah,, when i am on the bridge using binoculars- to ships; it gives this ****ing shake vertically which annoys me so much. can you guys FIX- FPS drops when out of the u-boat....
ADD: can you guys add new command- battery recharge mode-(now only one propeller works after some underwater trip), i guess both should work in general way to get better speed- with normal battery recharge level plus super battery charge mode- as it was in SH3.
can you guys add, weather report? i love the weather report in SH3.. may be since you guys cant fix weather problem- you cant add that command.;((

I thought i'd add my thoughts on the patch. As to be honest, i haven't really had time to play version 1.2 properly until this weekend.
Without sounding like i'm moaning or ungrateful...i'm just not impressed with the patch at all. There are still lots of things wrong and some things that are meant to be fixed quite simply are not. Most of them have been listed in this post already. But here is what i'd personally LIKE to see sorted out ASAP.
1. VERY poor AI!! I don't expect too much from the AI...but i do expect 2 ships (tankers or otherwise) to be able perform basic navigation and maneuvering tasks. I also expect them to have SOME sort of spatial awareness. Sailing clean through each other as already demonstrated in previous pictures posted in this thread is just COMICAL. And if it's comical...it totally ruins the game and the little feeling/involvement i get from the game in it's current state. It's hard to enjoy a game when you experience something as jaw droppingly awful as that for youself. And i've personally seen that happen on MANY MANY occasions.
2. Co2 bug STILL present, after an apparent fix.
3. Stadimeter STILL doesn't work properly.
4. Weather STILL occasionally appears to be different upon loading a game.
5. What happened to the crew uniform change in bad weather? Maybe i just didn't notice it??
6. The man the deck gun and flak gun commands work ok for me, but do we HAVE to have the watch officer or whoever it is...saying "surface the boat" ?? I mean i'm already surfaced...why can't they say "man the deck or flak guns" respectively.
7. LOVE the new depth under keel and return to course buttons thankfully these appear to work for me. As for the compass it works, can't say i'm too bothered about it only being half a compass as some are saying. Maybe a full compass to keep everyone happy? It's nice to have all 3 buttons in the game though. Why on earth these weren't in from day one is just perplexing!
8. Having halo around interactive crew members/objects...i don't see why these have to be active after you've done the tutorial. We know what we can interact with...you dont have to remind us. Having glowing halos around everything detracts from the immersion in my own humble opinion. I thought this was meant to be sorted out?
9. Like others i SEEM to be experiencing problems with magnetic detonation...i can't be 100% sure. But are we sure they work properly?
10. After the environmental lighting and effects improvements,I seem to be getting VERY grainy/pixelated shadows on things now...looks horrible. Much much worse than it was previously.
11. I'm also experiencing quite a few sporadic crashes to desktop since this new 1.2 patch. This didn't happen ONCE in previous version, now i've had a good few CTD this weekend. Just playing...not loading or saving...and bam...CTD. I think it's prob crashed about 5 times...loosing any game. "Not a great deal many times" i hear you say...but worrying none the less, as this never happened previously.
That about sums up my problems and dissapointment with patch 1.2. What's more dissapointing is that we have waited a very long time for this patch, and it just doesnt deliver.
2-3 months after release and we still have a game in a very poor state. How long do we have to wait?
I do appreciate the response from you ms-kleaneasy, but why do i feel UBI doesn't appreciate us!

That is a feature of VIIA sub. It is known to be pretty bad at keeping it's depth when under 40m. It keeps drifting deeper but will eventually stabilise. That feature is of incompetence of German engineers, not of game developers.Just wait till you get VIIB, everything is better after that.
Haven't seen any problems with stadimeter since using mod for full TDC controls and entering everything by hand (like I did in SH3).![]()

I never got my "pre-order artwork" I was promised for pre-ordering the game despite multiple requests both here and from customer service.
The "official patch notes" were missing some key fixes which were apparently included in the patch.
The "questions for the Devs" apparently were never answered.
The US website is still not completed and the UK website is still broken.
There's been absolutely no official developer comments anywhere on this forum.

I am encountering some way too obvious bugs, tried the game with and without mods, so that can't be it. Started having these problems after installing patch 1.2 .
1. Hide chronometer does not work, if I enable the clock, cannot hide it and the clock is stuck on the screen.
2. Cannot hide the XO window when making target calculations.
System:

1. There is still the bug present in manual targeting mode, whereby all mast heights are set 20m. This causes the stadimeter to work badly as others have reported in this thread already.
I highly encourage you to have a look at the post in this forum, "TDW NewUI + TDC mod install video walkthrough" which among other things, fixes this bug. I don't agree that modders should fix bugs but with this I can finally enjoy playing the game. Plus having all the torpedo dials ala SH4 is great.

I would like to say a good word for this improvements of SH5…
1. SH3 orders and control over sub to implement into SH5.
2. The dials (compass etc.) to remake by historic shape.
SH is valuable as U-Boot simulator with maximum realism for me. By me, if SH3 penetrate with the new ideas and graphics from SH5, SH5 come into being splendid simulator.
And I have found some little bugs in SH5 (v1.2)...
*My map sketches are lost after save/exit/load.
*When I arrive to the bunker, my sketches from a mission stay upon the briefing map (before next mission).
*"I start a tap dance” when I walk through the sub and bump into some object. (The sounds of steps take devil speed.)
*The sound of the engines gets lost, if I stand on the bridge, sometimes. (When I take pause.)
*Depth under keel is not working after save/exit/load. New mission restarts its.
