    The depth under keel function you created in the latest patch doesnt work.
    When i use it it says that i have 16 meter under the keel, however i still run aground.

    There are some great mods out there, especially the hi rez interior, atlantic green water, etc. UBI will eventually release patches for all the bugs; they are a big company with a great reputation, to leave a game appearing pre-beta release can be disasterous for further game releases.

    I was at the games.com (the largest game exhibition) in Cologne, Germany. Ubi was,there as well, of course. I wasn't able to get to talk to any official guy from UBI nor did I saw anything about SH5 (again, of course).
    Only promotion teams, busy to push the new titles...

    Convoys have serious AI problems, they tend to get stuck and this usually start to happen when an escort ship is sailing through the convoy in the attempt to catch me. So the merchants are trying to avoid him and shortly is a whole chaos there and they end up stuck. Here is a shot as example, notice that this is a convoy filled with heavy tankers, not some light fishing boats:



    Anyway, the AI is still ******ed, I never had the honor to be sunk by the enemy, right after I dive under 80m they loose my track, even if I sail at max speed. And the AI is the biggest problem in the game, for me the escorts are just some little annoying flyes and I'm used to never give to much attention to them. Just dive for a few minutes under 80m until I reload the torpedoes, then back in action. Mods can help, but this is not right. I really wish to finally have an enemy in the game, not only just sinking the very same ships over and over again.

    Another annoying bug is that I loose my lovely Albrecht camo every time I load the game and more than that, even when I dive or surface. Like.. I dive "black" and few minutes later I surface "clean".. somehow I lost my camo under water.

    The crew is driving me mad, I wish I have a big shotgun in the game and shot them all. Most annoying is the sonar man, I wish I just could strangulate him. Right after the patch I used his special ability, total revealing. Since then, every single time I encounter a convoy he screams that he see smoke on the horizon even if we are under 150m deep & running in silent mode. And he keeps reporting me ships every 10 seconds, is sooooo annoying that I had to turn of the voices in the game options.

    When I crash dive there is no way to get out from the officer deck and go to the sonar, but this an old bug. Annoying one as there is not other way to give orders during a crash dive so I have to wait until is done to be able to acces the other part of my boat. I fail to understand why we can't have a "crew bar" on the interface from where I can have acces to the basic navigation commands. As captain

    Stadimeter works, but is not precise. But anyway, it's an useless tool as seems like there is nobody on the ship who can keep the track of my target, right before I fire my tubes I need to do again a distance check. The magnetic detonator seems to not work.

    Sorry for this long post, but hope this time is really somebody out there who finally care about our opinions and bug reports. SH5 have a great potential to become the best sub sim ever, sadly right now is just an unfinished product, even we had to pay for a finished one.

    ok...this is a really odd one. i ran right into one of the escort ships, and it sank, but did no damage to my sub.? something is very wrong with the AI, according to the manual you can use the xo to target ships., but how? i have yet to find that command. same for several others. i got patch verson 1.2 to install but not 1.1, it stated i have the wrong game verson.? what is up with that? fired two torpedos at a port with two ships tied up next to each other and they both blew up. oil tankers take forever to sink. during wwII they would blow up with one hit. ships in port when sunk will sink stern or bow first, in shallow water. how is that possible? yet at sea they just settled down and vanish. troble taking with crew. hard to keep the dialonge box open it just closes before i'm done? AA gunner never shoots at planes. and planes never notice the sub. EVER. same issue with the save games... i sank all the ships in harbour. yet when i loaded the game, i was on the surface (was underwater when i saved the game) and surrended with warships, by the time i made it into the conning tower it was too late and i was sunk, so much for that game. had to start over..like the redo on the graphics, not sure i like having to walk all over the ship. takes too much time to get from one area to another. one other thing i noticed, my torpedo oficer said he could jam the rudders on a few torpedos, but never did it? is that for real or just something to make the game more fun?

    and any advice on how to install 1.1 would be wonderful. i think most of these issues could be related to that or i hope so. i like playing the game. its pretty fun so far bugs included. thanks

    i reccomend you, kahy and all others, to install mods, with JSGME. As far as i know anyone who uses mods says that boost the game.
    there are lots of them. in my opinion the most inportant are multiple Ui by darkwraith, critical torpedo hits and IRAI( mod for AI that makes wolfpacks possible( at least on single missio) and improves the ai and tactic of many units, now aircraft really attack you etc
    NB: install the mods alway in port adn have the latest patch
    and those are just a tiny number. Go to subsim.com and find them, there are some other sites but i always only use that.

    I have not experienced all that has been written here but I do have issues with the game. Some times it is difficult to get out of the boat and topside. It will not let me climb the ladder.

    (2) Where are all the explanations on some of the features in playing the game ( like compass, ruler, eraser,etc?. Where do you use those things?. On the charts down in the periscope room?. Also very hard to find a convoy and the explanations on how you do that.

    How about an answer to the questions?. Here is another one,,, When diving,, how do you plain off to hold depth?. I did a crash dive and it just keeps going. I could not stop it and the only way was to rise to periscope depth which then I got sunk by the enemy.

    Just to the right on the bottom left UI bar you will spot two tiny buttons, one of them brings out a compass bar to assist with manually changing heading and the other gives you a bar to assist with accurate depth control.
