A good friend of BSS_Vainspark and I crashed in a twin commanche today. He and another didn't survive. They were on their way to Miami and crashed about 8 miles south of Lakeland Linder. I was at Lakeland South airport, 4 miles from the crash site, flying for Skydive Tampa Bay when it happenned. Bob Cunningham was a 30,000 hour pilot. He flew everything from small GA aircraft to B727's. He was also a director at American Flyers, the oldest flight school in the US. No one knows what happenned. If there was a way out, this is the man that could've done it. From the video it doesn't look like the plane moved from where it impacted.
It's a sad day. He left behind a wonderful wife who was there to meet him every time he landed and children, two of them were 6 year old twin daughters. They are a story book family. He will be severely missed.
