    Your shape fe 2012

I have the same problem with the calorie count not right. Boot camp for example, I do the prove it and every time the counter stops on me, Today I started and got to 28 cals with 6 mins remaining, It stayed on 28 cals for the next 5 mins then with a few seconds left went up to 30. Every time I compare my stuff with other online calorie counters and they are all very similar and about 3 times the cal amount. I burn more doing zen than skipping on extreme. Not sure what counter the base there statistics on but it's way off. I have reported the problems with ubi but all I get back is emails stating that they have changed the report to closed as they haven't heard from me in 48hrs. so i respond and just get the same rubbish emails. Ubi please fix the problems with the counter and don't just ignore the fact it's wrong. You have our money from the game now fix the problems with it.

I've been at Support with this issue and get this stock answer:

At this moment in time we have no information on whether or not a patch will be released for the problem you have reported. However, the information has been passed on. If this issue is resolved, the solution will appear on the support section of our website.

If you have any further queries or issues please do not hesitate to contact us again and we will assist you further.

I'm not giving up on this. Either a patch is being worked on or it's not. "Don't know" is not an acceptable answer.

Support not aware of the problem....(!)

Here's the reply I got this morning after I think the fourth time I batted it back to them:

Can you please provide a source of where else this problem is being reported? At present, we do not have a lot of customers reporting this problem through the support channel. However, if you have a link to a forum or site where other players or experiencing this problem, it would be helpful.

I suggest others raise the subject with them so they can't pretend they don't know.

@Ubi-Mush: Care to comment? You assure us that everything is passed on, yet they're claiming ignorance.

I should say I've replied with half a dozen links from this forum all on the subject of low calorie counts.

    Good grief!

I think the reason a LOT of users haven't logged complaints is because (like myself) they have very little time for that sort of thing. If something doesn't work we just move on. I mean JUST to chime in here and tell you that you are NOT alone with this software malfunction has required me to set up YET ONE MORE on-line account with another password and profile and ... I don't want to play social media! I wanted to work out and at the moment Ubisoft has me very VERY annoyed!!!! (+25 more "!")

THAT being said, yes I am having the calorie counting issue. It seemed to start about a week ago when I upgraded to an Xbox live Gold membership and suddenly the Xbox wanted to download a software update for "Your Shape". After that, exercises I had been doing for a month were only burning half (or less) as many calories as they had. I can't tell you if it is having trouble counting or if it is just measuring them in a different way but I did try the "step out and then back in" trick and it had no effect.

ALSO - last night when I signed in to Xbox live I was presented with some unnamed updates it had to do. This morning when I started the "Your Shape" software it kept wanting to take me through some sort of introductory tour of all of the "Your Shape" features. None of the bottons* on the controller would work to stop the demo so I finally had to exit to the "log out". When I logged back in and restarted "Your Shape" from the main Xbox menu ... it went back into that Demo mode again. I had to abandon it all together as these shenanigans had eaten up all my time. Boo.

Does anyone know how to unload/erase "Your Shape" from the Xbox? These "enhancements" to this game are so bad that I am willing to lose a months worth of recorded progress in order to reload from my original "Your Shape" disc and have it work like it USED to.

    * I had to incorrectly spell this word with an "O" instead of a "U" because this forum kept censoring the word. Yes, it censored the common word one uses to describe those little things on your controller that you push to make things happen on screen ... "****on".
    This does not instill confidence.

I have now submitted (and then re-iterated) a trouble ticket for this issue with Ubsoft support.

    @ my previous speakers:
The issue of counting calories really seems to be no end. Think about it, please, why you did decide to buy the original YSFE and / or YSFE 2012. Would ye a program that helps you to improve your figure, strength, endurance and ultimately your health and your well-being? Or did you want a program to (correctly) count calories? Instead of endlessly lamenting about the calorie counting, it would be much easier to buy a heart rate monitor (puls clock) and to rejoice about the fact that the values of the clock are so much "fairer" than those of YSFE.
The fact, that we mainly report our real or perceived problems with YSFE, is leading us to a generally negative mood. Instead, we should report more about the fitness successes we would not have had without YSFE.

    Let's make a calorie counter

Programming for dummys: let's make a calorie counter !

    1) Categorize each exercise in the box from 1 to 10, 10 being the most calorie consuming exercice,

    2) then put that number (say Wall Breaking: 8) in an equation that will look a lot like the following:

    <----- c a l o r i e -------- c o u n t e r ------->
    Wall Breaking 10 minutes = (8) * { [ (height) (weight) (age) ] (time, in minutes) } * [gender] = X cal.

It's incomplete of course, consider it as a teaser.

I'm a programmer, the YSFE calorie counter is a shame, and it would be a piece of cake for any average programmer to fix it.

The fact that this very simple programming bug seems to be such a problem for Ubisoft is concerning.

    @ K1200GTRED who was saying:
"The issue of counting calories really seems to be no end"

The end is when the issue is fixed so it's no longer an issue. That's how respectable companies usually manage that kind of thing.
