I'm only seeing problems when using OpenGL. What about the rest of you? Problems in DirectX too or just OpenGL?

I'm pretty sure the problem doesnt occur in DirectX rendering mode, only OpenGL.
But once again, one of the points of having such high end quality cards is to be able to get the fullest out of SM3 and the game, spoiling your eyes with eye candy.
Would be a shame to have to turn down these graphic options for this sort of bug.

Indeed, the latest drivers work fine until 4.01. Maybe the fix will/should come from nVIDIA, but given how many gamers use IL-2 versus other games such as BF2, I am hoping Maddox resolves the issue in the next/last patch as NVIDIA is probably too busy with other games.
If not, Hunter82 could you please take a moment to explain what the temporary fix actually does to the presentation of the game? Sounds like an easy fix, but what are the graphical "cost" to the gamer?

TactS!

After reading through this thread I`m so glad I got an ATI All-In-Wonder X800XT as my new 3D card for the next couple of years.
Only solid drivers releases and top performance since the last 5 versions. Way to go ATI

Thanks for the pics Banabob. I have heard about this issue for a long while now and had never seen any pics of it. You Nvidia m8's hang in there. The m8's that uses ATI went through 3 months of graphic glitches back from Dec. 04 to Feb. 05. Ours was so bad that at times, we couldn't see well enough to fly. Looks like you m8's can at least fly, even if it is with the sides miising on your ac. I know it looks bad, but surely Nvidia knows about the problem and are working on it. It might be good for the lot of you guys to bombard Nvidia with screen shots like this and complaints as well, just in case thay have put it on the back burner. I'm feelin' for you guys. Geesh!

Thanks Quazi, I just posted my problem at Nvidia forums along with many others who are having the same exact problem and none have gotten answers yet so that is a bit disconcerting. I also emailed dperez(at)nvidia.com with the problem, we'll see if it is even answered.

Just wait till you try to find 64 bit compliant drivers for 6800 Ultra under Win XP64 without texture issues.
