Yes I think so too.. and had the name not been changed for may that is exactly what would have happened.. IMO it was common sense.Originally posted by Bo_Nidle:
Normally I do not have any time for Pc revisionist history. However in this case I can make an exception as I REALLY want this film to be made and the class of production team could not be better.
The prospect of the raid being recreated by Weta Studios, whose credits include the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Avatar, is just too great to contemplate.
It will bring the bravery and ingenuity of those involved into the conciousness of a new generation who have no knowledge of the raid whatsoever, and that can only be a good thing.
It will be a travesty if the film is judged solely on the merits or otherwise of the dogs name!
Also .. I was watching this thing about the T-34 on the history channel the other day.. and it occurred to me that based on the previous work of Weta studios.. it would be so much easier now to do WWII war stories with the correct equipment.. vehicles etc.. Based on what they did with Avatar they could use a golf cart.. and digitally change it to an authentic Jeep (Not that they would have to.. ) or any vehicle.. I'd love to see films based on WWII & WWI for that matter with vehicles that looked historically correct.
Alllll righty then... Well how about common sense and courtesy?Originally posted by MB_Avro_UK:
But it's wrong to use Political Corectness as a censor.

I hear you. Maybe we're too close to the past if that makes sense. A lot has happened since 1943.
