I just moved my computer to a different location in my apartment. After hooking everything back toghether, my computer no longer recognizes my x-52.
It dosnt' appear to be a driver issue, as windows it'self dosn't know what the device is that's being plugged in. I've tried different USB ports. Somtimes the stick lights up a little, but not like normal, and sometimes not.
On some USBs, windows realizes there is something plugged in, but cant' make out what it is. I get a USB Icon in my system tray, and when I click it, I'm told that the USB device is not recognised, and I should try re-pluging it in, or failing that replace the device!
Any Ideas? (also, could someone link me to the X-52 fourm on Saitek's site? I can't find it for the life of me)

I am not familiar with the X-Sticks.
However, here are a couple of things to check out...
This "new place" for the computer... what's the wall outlet like at that spot? Could it stand a new outlet of commercial grade?
Your power supply might be overtaxed and not powering the USB thingy's so well. If you have a powered USB thingy, try it.
See if you've got IRQ conflicts...

I tried to re-install the driver.... but it didn't work. You see, there comes a point in the driver installation where the program waits for you to plug in the stick. Since windows dosn't recognise the stick, the installer refuses to procede.
I moved my desk to a different wall in the same room. So I'm using the same outlet.
I've got a 600w PSU, so that should be more than enough. Unless it's going bad (not unlikey, since it's a cheep one). However, it is unlikey the PSU would choose to go bad just as I moved the computer.
I'm not @ home and can't check my IRQs, but seeing as there was no problem before, I don't see how moving my stuff could create a conflict.

The same has happened to me on occasion with a X45, espically when we have a power loss.
Heres a link to the Saitek Help Forum at SimHQ if this doesn't answer your question. http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimat...ubb=forum;f=79
When this occurs to me, I power down and unplug the stick. Reboot and let XP load. Plugging in the stick activates the lights and I then proceed to the device manager to load the drivers. Here is a shot taken from Ron Hunts site as an illustration:
Windows sees the stick, but has yet to identify it. From here, using the update driver tab, you point XP to the drivers you're using. Its pretty simple. Heres a link to Ron Hunts Help Center if you care to browse. He provides more detail than the small item I've left for you.

Thanks Steve, I'll give it a shot when I return home.
Oh, and thanks for the link... is it just me, or dose Saitek hide their forums?

Must be something in the air.
Sunday my X45 did exactly the same thing, except I didn't move my PC
After a couple of hours attempting to re-install I finally tried plugging it in to the wifes PC.
Looks like my X45 has gasped it's last
One last shot at the Saitek forums before I shop for a replacement.

Looks like we are both out of luck B16Enk read my thread here
This Sucks big time! If Saitek will replace my stick @ little or no cost (doubtfull) it will be my 3rd X-52 since January!! (my first was replaced @ no cost; defective)
I'm really not happy about this, but don't know what stick I would buy if I decided not to get the 52 again.

I posted there now, as I don't have the receipt any more it looks like I too will be out of luck.
Shame as it was a good device and worked well in combo with my MS FFB2.
I may be tempted to spring for a CH throttle now....
Good luck Georgeo
